  1. Looks like you've found a hatchet. Unfortunately, the handle's rotted out of it.
  2. I'm not turkey expert, but this looks like a great big bird to me!!! My boy shot this this morning. it has a 10" beard and 1.5"spurs. I didn't have any scales to weigh it, but it was all he wanted to pick up. He's very excited.
  3. Good tastes in knives and bourbon.
  4. My fire alarm in the attic went off shortly after midnight one night. After waking, slowly discerning what had awoken me, and repeatedly looking the house over for signs of a fire, I threw the old alarm away, and replaced it the next day. That night, however, the sleeping was over. I don't know how you could go to sleep after a start like that.
  5. I believe you are correct. In Kentucky, however, I think one can open carry without a permit. My Tennessee permit has written on it "Handgun Carry Permit". It makes no mention of conceal carry.
  6. You got me there! How bout a centerfire?
  7. Heck, I'd kind of like to see pics of the holster.
  8. Name another rifle readily available for $100-200, with which you can readily buy inexpensive ammo, AND actually hit something with it.
  9. That, my friend, is a Smith and Wesson pre model 34 PINTO! If original, and it looks to me to be, you have a quite rare and valuable piece. It would be well worth your while to request a letter from the Smith and Wesson historian, Mr. Roy Jinks, to verify the originality of the gun. Thanks for sharing! That's quite a piece. Could it have possibly been purchased at Rex Firearms in New York? Is there any chance you could locate the box it came in?
  10. Post some photos. I'd like to see it. It sounds like a butcher job, but there are a couple of other possibilities.
  11. I like the old sherrif's reply to a lady at a dinner party who asked him "Why do you have a pistol? Are you expecting trouble?" He politely responded "No maam! If I were expecting trouble, I'd have brought my shotgun.":D
  12. returned.
  13. S-W Forum I'm tempted by this one myself!!!!
  14. I love a success story! Thanks for sharing. June will be #16 for us. Like a wise old man once told me "There ain't nothin better than a good woman, and there ain't nothin worse than a bad one." Looks like some us here lucked out.
  15. 4" are hard to come by. You wouldn't settle for a 6 or 6.5" would you?
  16. Quick draw would be a ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Man, I'm glad I took the time to read that book!!!
  18. The mods might consider making this thread a sticky. I'm enjoying your writing so far.
  19. Buy a Rock Island, a range membership, and more than enough ammo to become proficient with it.
  20. Take a fool's advice and write something that won't offend the teacher. I know you are right, you know you are right, but we aren't grading your paper.
  21. Leather rules!!!
  22. Bolt your safe to the floor and don't worry about it. Extra insurance for guns is a rip off in my opinion.
  23. Do you have trouble operating the safety? I will be interested to hear your range report.
