Those are amazing guns! Most people, and the majority of gun people will look at you like you're an alien if you mention a 38 Special semiauto pistol.

I enjoy shooting pool/billiards. I don't get to do it much anymore. In my misspent youth, we spent a sizeable portion of schooltime at the local poolhall. My favorite was snooker.

I'm not interested in making it, I was just taken aback at the slam of local craftsmen.

I have one in 44 mag, and it will have a 357 companion if I ever find one at a sane price. I have nothing but good to say about them. I've shot everything from natfart target loads to full house magnums in it, and it is a tack driver with them all. Good luck in your search, as they're hard to come by. Don't overlook the Winchester 94 in 357. A fellow forum member here has one, and it is awesome as well. Other suggestions would be one of the 92 Winchester clones such as the Rossi, Puma, or even a Browning. I think Winchester might have made a few 92s in 357 a few years back too, but I'm not sure.

:DEverybody knows you have to buy from China to get the really goos stuff.

If you hire someone to do it, make certain they know what they are doing. If you do it yourself, all you are wanting to do is to get rid of burrs and smooth machining marks a bit. I understand that parts like the trigger, hammer, etc. are surface hardened, and if you stone through that, you are left with a soft surface that will wear quickly, and soon become unserviceable. Also, make certain to not change the angles on any of the contact surfaces. Taks your time with a quality fine grit stone and give it a shot. There's really not much to it. If you look in the gunsmithing section here: S&W-Smithing, you'll find more information than you'd ever want to know, from some of the most knowledgeable S&W nuts in the world. Click on th FAQ at the top of the page, and you'll learn everything you need to know.

YOu won't save money....you WILL get to shoot more. Reloading is a money pit just like racing, golf, fishing, etc. If you enjoy it, it's worthwhile. You'll likely learn more about guns, ballastics, math, and become a more proficient shooter as a result of reloading, but you won't save money.

It isn't easy to watch someone you care for destroy themselves with drugs. I've been there. It makes you think that anything that might have a remote chance of helping is worth a shot. This is where otherwise intelligent people leave the confines of rational thinking and agree to irrational actions.

You almost need a tool to work this one.

Perhaps, but I do believe the government's function is to ensure that one's rights aren't treaded upon. A law based government is essential to make this work. A SMALL government.
-
In a nutshell, you should have the right to do anything you want as long as it doesn't impede upon my rights.

YOu might see a few more feet per second out of the same load with the Magnum primers. Other than that, you won't notice any difference. I use Winchester Large Pistol primers, because the say "for regular and magnum loads". I do this just because it makes me always right.

Can you disengage the safety using only your right hand?

A guy dropped one off here today to have a holster made for it. I haven't shot it, but I can tell you there's way to many buttons, levers, switches, etc; on it for a carry gun. The trigger is awful, and I can't get a good enough grip on the safety lever to reliably work it. I wouldn't carry one if you gave it to me. A carry gun should be a simple point and click affair. I'm a Smith and Wesson guy, but this thing is a no-go in my opinion.

I could not agree more. I have trouble expressing my thoughts well. My thinking on restrictive regulations is this: 200 years ago, for instance, this was a very vibrant country; by far the greatest in the world. It was strong, growing, and the place to be. It had relatively few regulations. For the past 200 years, we've been constantly adding laws and regulations; most ridiculous, but some necessary. All in all, do you think our nation was stronger 200 years ago, or is it stronger now? Which had lower crime rates? Better morality? Under which Government would you prefer to live? Which tax rate would you prefer? Every time we add something like this, it equates to a larger and larger financial burdon on the taxpayer, and less liberty. I actually said I distrust anyone with a badge or an elected office. Do not misunderstand that to mean that I think all LEOs are bad, but when I see one, or have to deal with one. I keep my eye on him. There are many fine LEOs, and the have a difficult and thankless job. Often, they are handcuffed from doing what they should. If you had the same experiences I've had, I believe you'd feel much the same. I'd go into detail, and provide examples until you got tired of reading them, but you'd likely think me a liar.

As far as the regulation part of your post, I guess I just have a general mindset that the vast majority of regulations are bad, and often have motives other than the obvious. Aside from that, I firmly agree with everything else in your post.

Some things a man should just keep to himself.

I expect most of us here do work for a living. It is a big deal to stay home from work and go to the Dr. when it shouldn't be necessary. I agree that meth is a problem, but punishing law abiding citizens, and regulating one of several ingredients used to make it is NOT the way to deal with the problem. I didn't mean to offend you, and I imagine we'd see eye to eye on most things. I am simply asking for everyone who thinks making ephederine available by prescription only to think it through and not just jump on the bandwagon blindly. Frankly, allergies is also a real and serious problem for many; especially in Tennessee. If there are hundreds of us sitting in an already crowded Dr's office waiting to get a prescription for it, someone who really needs to see the Dr. isn't going to get to. To my knowledge, there isn't a suitable alternative for it. If there is, I'd really like to know. I've tried a lot of products, and found only one that works.

+1. DOn't ask why I have a dent in the side of my safe.

Call me crazy, but I don't trust anybody with a badge or an elected office. A lot of people thought the Jews were overreacting in Germany. It didn't happen all at once. I shouldn't have to cede any freedoms because of the bad decisions of others. Going to the doctor is a major pain in the can to people who work for a living. No one even considers punishing the offenders. Meth is a bad prmblem. I haven't disputed that. What you are proposing, however, isn;t going to help, just like every "common sense" gun control law doesn't help anything. Making and selling Meth is already illegal! We need to enforce existing laws and we wouldn't have a problem.

It makes you feel betterr about having sinus trouble, but actually does little to cure it. Actually, a sinus infection just reduces the enjoyment factor of a good bourbon.
-
I'd suggest you order a firing pin for it, unless it's already been changed. I bought two of them, and within a box of shells, I had to replace two firing pins. The replacement pins will last. I guess the original were brittle or something. I bought two of them; same as new, for $70 at an auction. That was several years back. Also, don't forget that the milsurp ammo is corrosive, so clean it after shooting any.
-
Everything you have the right to do isn't specifically ennumerated in the constitution. Anyway, I haven't found any sinus medicine other than pseudoephedrine that actually works. If you have, what is it?

I never saw anything to sign.
