  1. The lady in the ebay video will soon have a silicone leak if she practices long enough.
  2. Me thinks this thread will get a very large number of visits.
  3. Am I the only one who thinks scotch tastes exactly like diesel fuel?
  4. Welcome to Tennessee and TGO. Thank you for your service to our country. I'm sorry to hear of your not so pleasant introduction to our state. If I found a person in my home or business uninvited, I consider them to be a threat. A corpse is a lousy witness in court. I'm glad to see you didn't form your opinion of the entire state upon this one incident.
  5. Sorry, I was referring to the banner ads. I agree that I've never seen a pop up ad here either. Sorry for the confusion.
  6. Do you receive extra advertising dollars when a forum member clicks on a pop up ad here, or does it go simply from traffic in the forum. I ask because I'll make an effort to click often of it helps.
  7. Parabellum over at the Sig forum is a good guy. He used to own the smith-wesson forum. If I were a Sig fan, I'd hang out there. Good info, thanks for sharing.
  8. If you buy a quality holster, molded to the gun you are buying it for, a thumb break is no more than decoration, and possibly a hinderance.

    Ruger LC9

I'm thinking about picking one up......you know, for evaluation, holster molding, and other scientific endeavours. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here has one, or has shot one. If so, I'd love to hear your opinion before I drop the coin. Thanks, Greg.
  10. That;s what I carry.
  11. I'd just make one. He'll need to silver solder it in place. Any competent gunsmith can do that for you if you don't have the tools. If you do, make it taller than you think you'll need, and shoot, file, shoot , file, etc. until you get it the right hieght.
  12. So far, 2.5 grains of Bullseye seem to do well. I'll load some more and actually try them out on "big game" tomorrow.
  13. Tennessee isn't a very large state, and I live somewhere in the middle of it. However, it seems that anything for sale there that I'd be interested in is always in a different time zone/climate. I figure it works that way for all of us. Maybe I just don't want it badly enough. A person might even be able to make a living as a courier, making daily or weekly runs across the state.
  14. I make holsters, and I'd suggest you do as little as possible to a leather holster, other than use it as it was designed. If you get something on it, simply wipe it off. If you want to shine it up, use shoe polish and a shoe brush. Whoever made it likely already added wll the oils, sealers, etc. it will need for the life of the holster. If used regularly, a leather holster will not last forever, but a good one will last many years.
  15. That sounds like a very sound idea.
  16. I don't worry about a gun printing anymore. I've always had about the same awareness level; good or bad I don't know. I do find, however, that when I carry, I'm a bit more likely to avoid certain situations, and much more likely to hold my tongue than when not carrying. In that respect, I'd do well to always carry.
  17. Colt Parts & Gun Parts for Colt Guns You might email these folks or watch gunbroker.com, but I'm guessing somebody will be making one, or else fitting a new barrel complete with sight. May I ask what went with the old one?
  18. You guys talked me into it! I think I've got all my stuff together. I'll begin load development as soon as possible. My barn will soon be on the ground if I don't do something soon. My boys have had limited success with plastic bats and airsoft pistols. I think this will be a lot more fun.
  19. S&W 586/686 or it's larger brother, a model 28 Highway Patrolman can be found in good used condition for around $450. You can pay more for something else, but you won't get a better gun. If you want to shoot an auto cartridge in a revolver, get one in 45, such as a model 25 Smith. Moon clips for the are more readily available, as is 45 Autorim cartridges.
  20. Erik, I'm going to sound like your dad. If you pick a career field just because you think you'll become rich, you'll have a long, miserable life. Find out what you love to do and do it. You'll do it well, the money will come, and you'll enjoy work instead of dreading getting out of bed every morning. Most people never realize this. Willis, Cool truck!!!
  21. Are you going to shoot the d@mned thing??!!??:D
  22. +1. I buy all the used dies, bullets, and brass I can. This is a great savings, especially when you can find a large lot someone is getting rid of. I bought almost 30 boxes of .257 bullets a while back for $120. I sold 6 boxes of that lot for $60. I now have more than 20 boxes of bullets for $60. A lot of them are Nosler, and are near $30 a box new. $20-$25 per die set used is normal, while they are much more expensive new. Same thing for brass.
  23. Good review.. I agree with you 100%. If you can stand the rough finish and the unobtrusive, although unnecessary safety, you'll be hard pressed to find a better shooting 22 revolver at any price; let alone for $100.
  24. Miller Lite.
  25. Post pics. Is it a takedown model or a solid frame? Prices are all over the map on them lately, with some selling for crazy money. A few things to look for in evaluating it would be that most of them have a crack in the stock on top where it meets the tang of the receiver. Also, a lot of them have been drilled and tapped for a scope as well as had sling swivel studs installed. All of this hurts collector value. Either way, you'd have to search long and hard to find a better deer rifle. Most of mine will shoot MOA groups with factory ammo. A nice, original pre war 99 in 300 Savage will bring at least $700 to $800 in today's market. If it's a rare model such as a "T", saddle ring carbine, engraved, or one of many other variations, the sky's the limit!!! On the other hand, a "bubba'd" shooter will usually fetch $300-$400.
