  1. How'd you get it home from the store?
  2. As JC57 said, there ain't enough room in a K frame for a 44 mag round. Sounds like someone has screwed up the hammer, trigger, sear, etc. Since you stated that you "don't know crap about revolvers", my advice would be to leave it alone.
  3. ...and for the price of 3 XD's I could buy 10 Hi Points and some ammo, and have guns I'd be just as proud of as the XDs. Quality costs money. Some people appreciate quality, and some people want the cheapest thing that'll work. Nothing wrong with either train of thought. That's why so many different makes and models are available. It's a good thing.
  4. PM sent. Did you get one already?
  5. Funny Pictures at WalMart Photos Flip through a few pages here....A man in a turban carrying a grenede launcher wouldn't stand out among this crowd.
  6. Thanks for the info. I already have an LCP. It's what I carry, and I love it. I just can't believe the LC9 couldn't simply be the LCP's slightly larger brother. The LCP is miles ahead of it in my opinion. Why would one want a safety on a DAO handgun?
  7. That's so cool! I love Rhonda Vincent and Gene Watson. To play with either of them would be a dream come true for me.
  8. If it hasn't been wet or in overly hot conditions, it will be as good as new. If it doesn't smell funny, load it up and shoot it.
  9. Big South Fork Scenic Railway - Home Page Just barely out of Tennessee, but well worth the trip is the Big South Fork Scenic Railway. It offers a train ride through an old mining town. It is fun, reasonably priced, and very educational. The scenery is first rate as well. I plan to take the kids back in the near future.
  10. You didn't get those valeus from Roy did you? I'd pay more than that for it sight unseen.
  11. I invited a young boy at work home to shoot. He brought an AK47 and some sort of pistol. I got out two or three S&W revolvers and let him shoot them. He bought two for himself before the next week was over. Like you said, he'd never fired one, and had no idea how well they shot and felt.
  12. Anything mechanical can fail. I do, however, contend that a pre lock Smith and Wesson revolver is one of, if not the most reliable handgun in existance today.
  13. Looks very nice, crimsonaudio! Thanks for sharing.
  14. SO does eating grilled food not count as eating? If so, you have a new and very profitable diet idea.
  15. Thanks for all the replies so far. I've found a Kubota Diesel model I really like, but it's a big job convincing my wife we need a $12k lawnmover.
  16. +1 It is refreshing to know there's at least one objective journalist out there. We need all the help we can get.
  17. Mr. Haas stuck his neck out when he joined this board. He's proven so far to be a good member, and I've yet to find anything in his articles that place law abiding gun owners in a bad light. I appreciate that. Mr. Gee, however, hasn't taken the time and trouble to introduce himself. I, for one, feel a little leery as to his motives regarding a story about reloading. I agree with Garufa that the timing of this story and that of the fire at the fire on Nolensville Rd. sure seem suspicious.
  18. That could be a very informative interview, and make a great article, assuming Brian's co worker is objective like he seems to be. Those gentlemen would be a wealth of information.
  19. My friend at Antlers and Feathers in Lafayette can beat the prices in the Academy Sports ad on the Ruger LCP and the LC9. I don't know about the Glocks.
  20. I'd say the latter is more accurate. I'm not looking to win an award with the lawn of the month club, just for a fast way to mow it, and for a lawnmower I don't need to work on twice a month.
  21. Here's some really good advice from a man who knows. The hand primer is inexpensive yet invaluable tool.
  22. I'm mowing with a bushhog right now, as my riding mower laid down. I'm really looking for something faster, and that will do a better job. I might be happy with a belly mower, but aren't they a pain to out on and take off? I use my tractor for other things regularly.
  23. Looked like my wife was operating the video camera. I nearly got motion sickness from watching it.
  24. I'm in the market for one, and not sure what to get. My neighobr has a $2500 Cub Cadet and loves it. My dad has a $8500 Dixie Chopper and loves it. I'm going to be mowing about 6 acres; part of it is in good shape, and part of it is pretty rough and rocky. I want to cut it as quick as I can for as little money as I can, and not have to spend a lot of time repairing the mower. I see a wide variation in prices on these, and although I do see differences in the least and most expensive models, I'm not sure the good ones are worth the extra dough. Whadda you think?
