  1. May I ask the reason for not posting a cash price?
  2. Not necessarially on this forum, but on several forums and other sites I frequent, I've noticed a recent trend of people posting items in the classifieds in which they say they want to trade, but don't want cash. A lot of times, they don't even specify what they are looking to trade for. I understand a person can do as they wish, but I wonder how successful these ads are, and why they won't sell and just buy whatever they are looking for. What am I missing?
  3. Yes sir it is a 2011.
  4. There is a way to program most cars to not do what this car is doing. That procedure is what I'm looking for, and I still do not have an answer. To my knowledge, there isn't a law against turning off a bell. If there is, would you be kind enough to give me a link or quote it? I was calling the entire U.S. population candies, including myself.
  5. I'm not mad. I just marvel at the fact that so many people who don't have the answer to a very specific question still feel the need to comment anyway. I suppose it makes them feel superior. I've done it myself on more than one occasion. It reminds me of what Ron White said: "I had the right to remain silent, what I didn't have was the ability.":D
  6. Thanks to those of you who tried to help. I just ordered a seatbelt extender. I'll take the end off that and plug it in. That way nothing is altered. It is a shame you can't just turn it off.
  7. We've certainly become a nation of candies haven't we? I asked in the original post for you to avoid the wear your seatbelt lecture, but some of you just couldn't stand it. My first two cars weren't even equipped with seatbelts. Somehow I managed to survive. If you don't know how to turn off the beeper, please refrain from responding.
  8. It isn't there. I looked. What law does turning off a beeper violate?
  9. Although I'm a Smith and Wesson revolver guy through and through, I find myself more and more slipping a Ruger LCP into my front paocket and going about my business.
  10. Folks, I'd be dead right now if I were in the habit of wearing a seatbelt. I choose not to wear one. It isn't any of anyone else's concern whether or not I do. Especially not the government. I did not intend for this thread to become a safety campaign. I just requested a bit of technical knowledge. I just want to drive my car in peace and quiet qithout a freaking bell ringing.
  11. I bought a new Accord this morning, and I can't figure out how to turn off the incessant dinging produced by the seat belt reminder. On a lot of cars, there is a procedure for disabling this lovely feature, but for this car I cannot find one. Please don't give me the old "wear the seatbelt" speil, I've heard it already. If you do know a way to disable this, I'd be very appreciative if you'd share the information.

  13. You are exactly right, I was just answering his question about a "cheap fix" to try. I'd pull it and have it repaired were it mine.
  14. This is very good advice.
  15. If it's a small leak, I'd suggest you try putting a can of black pepper in the radiator before trying the stop leak. If you use the stop leak, I would suggest you follow the directions on it. It's going to get in your heater core anyway the first time you do turn on the heater.
  16. If I see something I'm interested in and think it's overpriced, I'll often make an offer. Sometimes I get told to pound sand, and sometimes I get a good price on something I want. I like it when someone makes an offer on anything I have for sale. Sometimes I take the offer, sometimes not, but at least then I have a minimum for what I can get for the item. I figure that if someone gets offended by an offer, they probably spend a good deal of their life walking around offended about something or another. I've seen my wife make offers and get discounted prices at the grocery!
  17. I do admire his honesty and candidness. I also didn't read all the B.S. comments he was likely responding to. Don't get me wrong, I don't care if he's cronically unemployed from this point forward, but I'd prefer to hear the truth rather than what someone thinks I want to hear.
  18. Yeah. It just seems odd to me. I'm sure there would be sales problems if there were any real accuracy problems with them. All in all I like the idea of the interchangeable cylinders.
  19. Ain't nothin better! Congratulations.
  20. 777 is easier to clean than Pyrodex.

    "Big Game" Guns

A Mauser bolt action rifle is the best option, in my opinion, to get a lot of bang for your buck in a big game rifle. I'd suggest you keep a lookout for an Interamrs Mark X or even a Remington 798.
  22. No kidding? Yuck!!!
  23. I wouldn't pay a quarter for the lot of them. He's talking about an 870 shotgun, which I'm not sure has changed much. Anyway, wouldn't you notice a difference like that at the time of purchase?
  24. The semi auto cases headspace on the mouth of the cartridge, and since they are ejected with a rod, no moon clip is needed in a single action revolver. The thing that makes me wonder is that a 9mm is a .355" bullet, while the 38 Spl is .357" dia.
  25. Guns don't have an expiration date on them, nor does their value depreciate with age. If it was in fact unfired in the box with all the paperwork, the gun store did nothing wrong. I'd love to find a pre '64 Winchester model 70 in "new" condition at a gun store!
