  1. I bought a new Accord this morning, and I can't figure out how to turn off the incessant dinging produced by the seat belt reminder. On a lot of cars, there is a procedure for disabling this lovely feature, but for this car I cannot find one. Please don't give me the old "wear the seatbelt" speil, I've heard it already. If you do know a way to disable this, I'd be very appreciative if you'd share the information.

  3. You are exactly right, I was just answering his question about a "cheap fix" to try. I'd pull it and have it repaired were it mine.
  4. This is very good advice.
  5. If it's a small leak, I'd suggest you try putting a can of black pepper in the radiator before trying the stop leak. If you use the stop leak, I would suggest you follow the directions on it. It's going to get in your heater core anyway the first time you do turn on the heater.
  6. If I see something I'm interested in and think it's overpriced, I'll often make an offer. Sometimes I get told to pound sand, and sometimes I get a good price on something I want. I like it when someone makes an offer on anything I have for sale. Sometimes I take the offer, sometimes not, but at least then I have a minimum for what I can get for the item. I figure that if someone gets offended by an offer, they probably spend a good deal of their life walking around offended about something or another. I've seen my wife make offers and get discounted prices at the grocery!
  7. I do admire his honesty and candidness. I also didn't read all the B.S. comments he was likely responding to. Don't get me wrong, I don't care if he's cronically unemployed from this point forward, but I'd prefer to hear the truth rather than what someone thinks I want to hear.
  8. Yeah. It just seems odd to me. I'm sure there would be sales problems if there were any real accuracy problems with them. All in all I like the idea of the interchangeable cylinders.
  9. Ain't nothin better! Congratulations.
  10. 777 is easier to clean than Pyrodex.

    "Big Game" Guns

A Mauser bolt action rifle is the best option, in my opinion, to get a lot of bang for your buck in a big game rifle. I'd suggest you keep a lookout for an Interamrs Mark X or even a Remington 798.
  12. No kidding? Yuck!!!
  13. I wouldn't pay a quarter for the lot of them. He's talking about an 870 shotgun, which I'm not sure has changed much. Anyway, wouldn't you notice a difference like that at the time of purchase?
  14. The semi auto cases headspace on the mouth of the cartridge, and since they are ejected with a rod, no moon clip is needed in a single action revolver. The thing that makes me wonder is that a 9mm is a .355" bullet, while the 38 Spl is .357" dia.
  15. Guns don't have an expiration date on them, nor does their value depreciate with age. If it was in fact unfired in the box with all the paperwork, the gun store did nothing wrong. I'd love to find a pre '64 Winchester model 70 in "new" condition at a gun store!
  16. A good quality gun belt is essential for comfortable carry. Making a double layer gun belt is labor intensive, and in turn expensive. One will last a long, long time, and be worth it's weight in gold if you intend to carry regularly. Here are a few I made, and $80 is more than a fair price. Although I haven't owned one, I've heard nothing but good reports about beltman belts.
  17. Amen.
  18. That stuff can get slick. Did the state salt it?
  19. Except for engine oil, I don't usually change any other fluids in my vehicles as a part of maintenance. Sometimes they get changed as a part of another repair. If you only got 41k miles out of the factory brake pads, you either pull a heavy load with it, or you need to work on your driving skills. If you don't want to be broke, you'll probably want to steer clear of the dealership's garage.
  20. I heard an ad on the radio yesterday for another Goodman show this wekend at the fairgrounds. 2 weekends in a row? Really??!!?
  21. I once saw a great big fellow getting rowdy in a pool hall. The mere sight of a Colt 25 sent him packing for the door. I'm of the belief that a small gun on your person is much more valuable than a great big gun you decide to leave at home. That being said, I'm quite happy with my LCP or Smith J frame.
  22. Sorry if this offends, but when I see a guy with a fanny pack, I think: 1)He's got a gun, 2)He's gay, or 3)Both.
  23. I do not enjoy the company of police or lawyers/judges. I wouldn't shoot unless I believed it was my/my family's only chance at survival. Furthermore, I'd have no interest in sticking around to be a witness.
  24. Supporting her bad desicions will rarely help the kids in the long run.
  25. If she were my daughter, I wouldn't help try to get the car back. It would be a good lesson for her to be on foot for a while. Sounds like she needs a new boyfriend.
