  1. Actually, taking something that doesn't belong to you would qualify as a cheat; or a better term would be theif. I can't believe you'd post something like that on an internet forum and not expect an unpleasant reply. I can cite several examples of technically legal behavior that is in no way moral. I can see by this thread several people here I would like to do business with, as well as several I'll make a point to avoid doing business with.
  2. This is why I like newspapers being on the internet. I used to read the letters to the editor and just get pizzed off. Now I get to enjoy reading the replies.
  3. If those are officer length grips, I might could take them off your hands.
  4. WTF???????????? My wife is right....Guys never really grow up, do we?
  5. I gave the SOB a dollar! I guess it's worth it to have him gone.
  6. You can clean a lot of that up by gently using 0000 steel wool, and copious amounts of oil. I'd clean it up and use it. Spend the money you were going to spend on refinishing on ammo for it. I can't imagine doing anything to it that wouldn't cost a fortune yet would enhance the looks of the shotgun. It doesn't look that bad to me.
  7. I told my father once about looking for a large, heavy knife. A while later he gave me this one he made. It was exactly what I wanted, and since he hand made it, it is my favorite.
  8. You've really got something there!
  9. I'd buy several reloading manuals and read and reread the front parts. That will give you a better idea of what you'll need to start. I like to keep a good stock of powder and primers on hand, as they seem to be in shorter supply than brass and projectiles. Watch classified ads on gun forums and sales and blemished bullet ads on retail webistes for good deals.
  10. This tickles me because the OP acts like he's outdone us all by getting an income tax refund.

    HiPoint Carbine

I darned near bought one at the local gun dealer a couple of weeks ago. I think they look like a ton of fun.
  12. You could always start your own internet forum.

  14. I still want my admission refunded from the last one I went to. There is a larger selection of guns and accessories at many gun shops than at the Lebanon show. They don't charge admission either!
  15. I wasn't really comparing one to a Chinese knife. I was thinking more along the lines of some of the other custom makers. To my eye, it seems that one can get a lot more bang for their buck with another brand. I suppose it is simply a difference in taste. I am in no way claiming that a Randall isn't a quality knife. They definitely are. I wonder if a lot of it is just brand recognition. Guy Clark likes them!
  16. I don't know how to ask this without stepping on any toes, so I'll just come right out and say it....I've looked at several Randall knives, and to me, the quality I see sure doesn't seem to be up there with the prices these things command. Would someone be so kind as to explain the astronomical value of these things?
  17. I've read a bit about that. In my opinion, the bottom line is that if your gun won't reliably ignite any primer from a major manufacturer, you have a gun problem; not a primer problem.
  18. I was making a bit of money by making and selling custom holsters, belts, sheaths, etc. I've actually cut way back on it, as it began to build into something that took up more time than I wanted. The key to it, I think, is that it was something I was interested in. Perhaps you should return to Jersey since you have such a low opinion of us redneck hicks here in Tennessee.
  19. I bought a pile of 30 round m1 carbine mags from them some years back for a ridiculously low price. They shipped quick, and I am very happy with the mags. I'd buy from them again.
  20. I'd buy some ammo and shoot it. You may have a different opinion on what to do after that.
  21. If you know much about cars and their values, you can usually pick one up if you keep an eye out, clean and detail it, and flip it for a 20% profit pretty quick if you know what you're doing....I don't! One could also likely take 5 grand to a gunshow and come home with 6....again, if you know what you're looking for.
  22. DO the trigger yourself. I'm not very talented at doing anything, but I had no trouble getting my mini14 trigger smooth and light. There are some very good how to videos on you tube. You'll save the money, and learn quite a bit about your rifle too.
  23. You could build it out of block, and line it with fire brick.
  24. Use fire brick. Concrete degrades very quickly under the heat of fire.
