  1. Spot on!!! Adam Carolla for President!
  2. Cannelures, as others have stated. I'm not certain if they are present for decoration only, or if they prevent bullet setback. Some cases have them; some don't. Load em up just like the rest.
  3. C'mon!!! Let's see some pics.
  4. Makes sense to me. Thanks for the explanation.
  5. Wouldn't take over a minute to do. Why? If I weren't left handed, I wouldn't care if mine had one or not, but I'm not sure what the benefit would be in removing one already there.

    Best SKS?

While the SKS is a higher quality, better built gun, the AK is more fun to shoot, and just plain sexier.
  7. I have two kids, and I've spent their entire life teaching them the safe handling of firearms. Just something to think about.

    Best SKS?

It's been a while. 20+ years I guess. There were many tables full of the at every gun show. I should have bought several.

    Best SKS?

I've been happy with my Norinco. For $59, new in the box, I've found very few things in life I considered to be a better value.
  10. After reading much malignment of the Century Arms WASR 10-63, and being hardheaded as I am, I purchased one from a fellow member here. After properly installing the trigger so that it would stay in place, I'd have to say the WASR is about as much fun as you can have with your pants on. It is quite accurate, the Tapco trigger isn't too heavy, and it goes bang every time you pull the trigger. The sights are in alignment, and magazines are pretty snug when locked into place. It also looks more like what I picture an AK to be than many versions currently available today. Maybe I just lucked out and got a good one.
  11. Unlike most of the people who have "cleaning accidents", I prefer to unload before cleaning. Short of that, I have very little use for an unloaded gun.
  12. U.S. News - Woman denies injecting patients' buttocks with 'Fix-A-Flat'
  13. Wow! May God bless you and your family in this time of loss.
  14. Mr. Fjestad seems to favor some brands over others. That being said, I don't know of a better pricing reference.
  15. Man, you inhierited two fine firearms! They've been well cared for, and represent some of the finest American craftsmanship ever. The 38 is a M&P Model 1905 Fourth Change. If you shoot either of them, you will be pleasantly surprised. I would strongly advise you to keep all the boxes, paperwork, etc. that came with the guns and the holster paperwork. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Aha!!! Boy, sometimes I sure feel dumb.
  17. I use the Lee trimmer that has the shllholder you chuck in a drill.
  18. A GSG 22 1911 to be exact. I somehow managed to break the factory safety......and the replacement the factory sent me as well. Anyway, ashamed to call customer service again, I ordered a Colt safety from Midway. I'd work on it a while, get frustrated, put it up, rinse, and repeat. Tonight, I finally got the safety correctly fitted, and reasssembled everything. The grip safety was wanting to hang on something. Rats!!!! Frustrated again, I decided to put it up, and when I put the magazine in the gun, everything magically began to work correctly. I do not pretend to understand what happened, but I now have the confidence to tackle installing an ambi safety in my RIA 1911A1 Commander......Baby steps.
  19. It sucked just like the other Lebanon shows.
  20. He shoots a Mexican mauser sporter in 257 Roberts that was built by his grandfather. He's loaded his own ammo for every deer he's killed.
  21. Does anyone sell a Siaga conversion kit with wood furniture?
  22. That's quite a trophy! Thanks for sharing.
  23. Turns out I've been more of a guide/butcher this year rather than deer hunter. I wouldn't change a thing. He's 13, and he's really taken to deer hunting this year. So far, he's bagged a 4 point buck on the juvenile hunt, a doe with a muzzleloader, and a button buck with his rifle this morning. I haven't shot a thing. Here's him with the 4 pointer. His little brother thinks he'll give it a try next year. This is what life is all about!
  24. The model 70 is perfect just as it comes. What on earth are you wanting to do to it?
