  1. I never gave it a thought until I read this post. Now I'm upset! Mike.357 is kicking my rear end!
  2. I would almost tell you to go on and shoot it, but if you're concerned, by all means have it checked out. I wish you were closer; I'd tell you to bring it over, and we'd give it a going over and test fire. Although some of the newer 1911s, as well as target models, are tight, the 1911, by design, should be a quite loose, sloppy gun. They were designed to work, no matter what. That includes working when wet, dirty, packed full of mud, etc. This requires some play in the action.
  3. Are you really that worried about it?
  4. So sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. My wife lost her cousin in a car accident last week as well. He left behind two young daughters. David, very powerful post I never knew about your daughter. As a parent, I cannot imagine how to begin to deal with the loss of a child.

  6. LEO turn ins are notorious for a rough finish, yet rarely fired condition. Years of banging around in a holster on car doors and donut shop booths. If the action works correctly, and the forcing cone isn;t cracked, jump on it. I would suggest you not shoot a steady diet of 125 grain loads in a K frame 357. 158 grain loads will be fine, if you can stand them.
  7. My 99 Savage EG shoots factory Remington 100 grain loads amazingly well. So well, I've yet to try loading for it. I recently bought a Model 14 Classic, and it shot more of a pattern than a group with them. I loaded some 75 grain Hornady Vmax bullets with IMR 3031, and got better results. I intend to try some 87 grain bullets next. I am open for suggestions of your pet loads to try.
  8. I like 1911s but not xds simply because the xd is ULGY!
  9. That fee dosn't bother me. I can avoid it by paying cash. I get peeved at senior citizens', law enforcement, etc. discounts. I also dislike stores that charge one price, but another price if you have this card, and this price if you're a super duper gold plus member.
  10. I guess that works for me then. Just a side note, you are more than welcome to wear a seatbelt in my vehicle if you please.
  11. It seems childish to order adult passengers who ride with you to wear a seatbelt. Would it be any different if you were riding with me and I would not allow you to buckle up?
  12. Well said. I would prefer to hear truthful statements like this rather than the hype the media drums into everyones' heads. Don't wear a seatbelt; you die. Eat a hamburger; you die. Smoke a cigarette; you die. I have no way to prove this, but I firmly believe that if everyone would simply pay attention while driving, it would save far more lives than seatbelts. My original intent in posting this is to illustrate that statistics can be manipulated to back whatever argument you choose to make.
  13. My wife rolled a car several times. The only injuries she suffered were a burnt, swollen face and black eye from the airbag, and a broken collar bone from the seatbelt. Could she have been ejected from the car and killed without it? Quite possibly. Could she have been unharmed without them? Quite possibly as well. I posted this as sort of a joke, but I guess I'm the only one who thought the title of the story was odd. After reading the responses, my point is: How do you know a seatbelt saved a life? I do not believe anyone can state with any certainty the outcome of a crash with versus without. I'm sure wearing a seatbelt is probably a good idea. After all, it's been beaten into your brain for years that it is, so it must be true.
  14. No doubt I'd be dead today if I wore one. I was hit in the driver's door hard enough to wrap the door around the steering wheel. I was sitting in the passenger's seat unharmed when the wreck was over. Couldn't have done that had I been strapped into the seat the Buik's front bumper occupied. It's no more a stretch than saying "seatbelts save thousands of lives".
  15. ....so 58% were wearing seatbelts? Sounds like seatbelts should be banned; not required. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2011-01-04-1Acopdeaths04_ST_N.htm
  16. Delivered?
  17. That one is a 250-3000. I also have them in 300 Savage, 243 Winchester, and even 410 shotgun.
  18. Mr. Pincus, I would like to know your opinion of the success rate of Smith and Wesson revolvers.
  19. I wet the leather and insert the gun into place. I then mold the leather around the gun with my fingers. After that, I remove the gun, wipe the little bit of moisture off it, and stand the holster to dry, propped on an ink pen clamped into a vise.
  20. There....I fixed that for you. How bout we band together and shut the card game down?
  21. I believe in our Constitution. I've seen no evidence that either Obama nor Romney has any regard for it whatsoever. The same goes for the entire structure of both the Democrat and Republican parties. I do not intend to vote for socialism; neither the fast nor the slower acting version. I do not vote to be "on the winning side". If I get beat, and will, I still voted my beliefs. If you can't understand that, I'm not sure how to better explain it. If more people voted their true convictions, we could have some decent choices.
  22. If you guys agree with this article, and vote for Mitt Romney,or Barrack Hussein Obama, how do you not consider yourself a hypocrite?
