  1. If you're going to keep it, shell out the dough and replace the entire system. Refrigerant is expensive, and has to be replaced each time your air conditioner is worked on. Better to cry once and get it over with.
  2. You do some very odd, yet interesting things. Thanks for sharing. I didn't know Cricket made a left handed action. I'm surprised it isn't available on the rifles.
  3. You could have spent a lot more money, but I doubt you'd have ended up with a much better pistol. I really like my Rock Island. As for the rail, if you don't like it, you could always file it off.
  4. I have but a single magazine for several, and a dozen or more for others.
  5. Talked with him yesterday. I'll not go, as they won't allow anyone under 18 to shoot. My two boys would love that.
  6. A good show yesterday. Today it was rather dead. There are some tables with very high end knives. I don't think they were selling very well in Westmoreland, but some nice stuff indeed.
  7. I thought it was a great effort for a new show in a small town. I believe they are planning another one in mid September.
  8. 1917 Smith and Wesson, 1937 Brazilian contract.
  9. M-I-C-E, In boats, they nest, poop, chew wires, and pee.
  10. I've finally convinced my wife that guns are far better investments than cds, mutual funds, bonds, etc. She seems to think that gold and diamonds are the more prudent hedge against financial setbacks. Show her the price of a Python in 1980, and then todays gunbroker prices for them. If she doesn't get it then, it's simply a math problem. By the way, Nice Colts!!!!!!
  11. If you are referring to 223 dies, I'm not sure a carbide set is available. I am sure they aren't necessary. Either way, you'll need to lube bottleneck cases when sizing.
  12. For the right gun, I'd walk from Knoxville to Mcminnville!
  13. Me too! We have the choice of two liberals. That isn't a friggin choice! I don't intend to ever again vote against a candidate.
  14. What are you looking to trade it for?
  15. Some very good points to ponder. This one is likely my favorite:
  16. Free time during daylight hours is the one accessory I can't seem to find. As far as the mag holders, I will tell you that it takes just as much labor, and nearly as much material to make one as it does a holster. In fact, I'd rather make a pancake holster than a double mag pouch. It's hard to get people interested in paying as much for the mag pouch as for the holster, but the cost is real.
  17. Sounds like a possible business venture to me! Good job.
  18. I've been treated very well by the folks at the Lebanon Gun Shop. The two times I've went in the Armory in Lebanon, I was made to feel as if I were imposing in some way. I'll not likely return a third time.
  19. Call the dealer's hand and offer $500 cash.
  20. We have a winner! I have a friend who owns a gun store, and honestly, I don't know how he makes it through the day dealing with the multitude of morons who walk in and out his door. He has plenty of good customers as well, but the ones you remember are the loudmouthed know it alls, and the people who stop by every few days to work the actions and dry fire every gun in the store, but never buy anything.
  21. I'd recommend you peruse youtube. There are several very informative guides there on doing it yourself. I did one on mine, and am quite pleased with the results. It isn't difficult at all.
  22. Then it took a pretty good hit in the collectibility department. Assuming it is mechanically sound, it's value would only be derived as a really cool, high quality shooter. Install an ambi safety, and I like it!!!
  23. If the dovetail for the rear sight hasn't been enlarged, it shouldn't be a big deal to replace the sights and grips with original parts. The sights may be hard to find. I wouldn't be surprised if Colt wouldn't replace the sights for a nominal fee.
  24. Looks right from what I can see. If it is in fact 100%, I'd venture to guess it would bring north of $2k, and that's just a guess, as I have nothing to compare it to. EDIT* Upon further looking, I believe the BA cartouche on the stock means an arsenal rebuild at the Benicia arsenal in California. If so, it still looks like a very nice piece. What's the price? If it's an RA, it would mean a rebuild at the Raritan arsenal. http://m1903.com/isstamps.htm http://m1903.com/rbmarks.htm
