  1. Looks good! Mind if I ask how you are heat treating the steel?
  2. Why no! We're jus on here shotin the breeze anyway. I probably learn more from a derailed thread than one that isn't; there aren't many that don't get derailed however.
  3. Depending on what I'm looking for, I usually start with Sam Hoster in Gallatin. He'll b1tch & fuss and say he dosen't have it. Then he'll get to digging through his stuff, and more often than not, he'll have what I'm looking for. If that doesn't work, again depending on what it is, it's gunparts.com, midway, brownells, ebay, etc.
  4. LOL! Shooting 1/2" groups with a factory rifle and factory ammunition? Your barrell isn't worn out; it's a gem! A lot of folks on the internet are simply full of $##+. Very few of us can shoot better than that with any rifle. Also, there are a great majority of four and even five digit custom rifles that will not outshoot yours. I feel that your expectation is more out of whack than the rifle.
  5. Some of my rifles shoot better with the bullet seated where it touches the lands when chambered, while others shoot better with a deeper seated bullet. I find no rhyme or reason for it. I suppose it's just a difference in the particular guns. You'll want to try loads with progressivlely shorter to longer OAL's, just as you tried loads with different powder charges. A 1/2" group is nothing to sneeze at. If you keep at it, you'll likely shrink your groups, but you'll put in a lot of effort for very little gain. But hey, that's part of the fun of reloading. Another thing you might want to try is a flat base bullet. I often find that boattails sometimes do not stabilize well until out past 100 yards.
  6. I'm not sure you put a lot of thought into this before you posted .
  7. Don't know about that. This scandal shows clearly that Obama has no qualms in supporting the killing of Mexican citizens by funding the transportation of weapons to drug cartels there. If I were Mexican, I'd think long and hard about that before entering the ballot box. As a rule, the Mexican people aren't stupid.
  8. Single shot.
  9. That's exactly what it is....a training rifle built to simulate a Mosin.
  10. Since it did not fire, I expect it is permanently deactivated.
  11. Among other things, it sounds like you and your father need to be working on a plan to replace the sherrif there as well.
  12. Just what I was looking for! Thanks.
  13. Anybody have one of these? If so, let us hear about it. http://centerfiresystems.com/rifle-pol22.aspx
  14. Why that would be illegal, and the rules of this forum preclude the discussion of any illegal activity.
  15. I would likely take care of this situation myself were it my father. I know, however, I would incur endless legal troubles. That doesn't seem fair since no one in the law enforcement profession seems to give a flip about what these people are doing.
  16. Wow! O.k. LEO's. If this kind of garbage can't be prevented, or corrected, why do we have law enforcement officers?
  17. Great video....hideous shirt!
  18. Dude! If your outside, and go inside to pee, you've got bigger problems than a code word can help.
  19. I got a new pair of Red Wing Pecos 1155 work boots. http://www.redwingsh...l-on-boot-brown Guess I know where they plan on me going in the morning.
  20. I agree with the other posters here. Why spend the $ on a new piece of junk with the MIM parts and useless internal lock, when an original, quality piece can be had for less money?
  21. I know these were designed for a light target load; maybe 185 or 200 gr wadcutters? So far, I've put a 16lb spring in mine and have been firing 230 grain ball ammo. I now have a set of dies and would like to load the correct load for the gun with the factory spring. Any ideas on where to start?
  22. Deer Roast 1 Medium deer roast cut into serving size pieces 1 Can Cream of Mushroom Soup 1 Pack Lipton Dry Onion Soup Mix. Season Salt Garlic Salt Soy Sauce Worchestershire Sauce 1 Medium Onion Sliced Place raw, washed meat into crock pot. Sprinkle generously with season salt, garlic salt, worchestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Add oinon soup mix and cream of mushroom soup. Stir, and place sliced onions on top. Cook on low 6-8 hours. Got one in the crock pot now!
  23. Ypu! That's a "P". Illinois State Penal System? Park Service?
  24. They are cool, if unconventional looking guns. I never cared for the rib, but like the rest of it. It is the same action with the same dogleg bolt as the xp100 pistol.
  25. I love Ron Paul. It just seems the majority of Armyvet's posts are links to some wingnut website video. Ron Paul lost!!! I'd like to see him wrap his head around that and have a normal conversation with us.
