  1. Just a plain ole WASR.
  2. My potatoes were good sized this year, but not nearly as many of them as normal. I dug mine with a boring old tractor. Good pictures! Thanks for sharing.
  3. The round is referred to as the "9MM Luger" for a reason.
  4. Absolutely! I'd be excited to own it as well. Please do not attempt to refinish it. I'd keep it clean, shoot it, and enjoy a great piece of history. Several companies build reproductions of John Browning's "Low Wall" Winchester. That alone is a testament to the quality, workmanship, and sound design of the gun.
  5. Thanks for the pics. That is a cool rifle! It is a shame someone didn't take better care of it. I'm guessing it would bring close to a grand in it's condition, assuming the bore is good and nothing is broken. The pics don't show an 80% rifle, but do show an original gun with quite a bit of honest wear and poor storage.
  6. Sir, Please do not think I am disrespecting you in any way. I do not know you. I am only being honest in an attempt that you may look at this from your neighbor's point of view. Judging only from what I've read, I see the possibility that there are two people who are difficult to get along with who live next to each other. One is you. You aren't the first to deal with such.
  7. Sir, We also take off our hats when a funeral procession passes, as well as for the singing of the National Anthem.
  8. LOL! You'll save youself a lot of headache if you do like most Tennesseans and forget that newspaper exists. Reread the article, and every time you get to the word "white", replace it with black, asian, hispanic, etc., and ask yourself if they'd have published the story. The author must have overlooked this recent story, and many more like it. http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2012/08/2012816141649568598.html
  9. If Christopher Walken were having a conversation with an empty chair, I'd think nothing of it. It seemed out of character for Clint.
  10. Luger P08 Walther P38 Smith and Wesson 39-2 There Rebeldrummer! I slipped in a Smith for you.
  11. I never said it was bad; I said it was weird.
  12. They are a sought after gun in original condition. It would really be helpful to see it. From what you've described, I'd guess in the $1500-$3000 range. However, any extra holes, sling swivels, refinishes, etc. will greatly diminish the value.
  13. Then don't dare ever watch "The Bridges of Madison County".
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiHNVYRTKP8 It seemed a bit weird to me. What did you think?
  15. Condition and being unaltered are two key factors in determining price. How bout some good photos and a little description? Sounds like a very interesting piece.
  16. You shouldn't have any problems taking the gun down and cleaning it yourself. I'm sure there are several youtube videos to walk you through the process. What other work does it need?
  17. I can't think of the last governer I'd trade him for. If you look at the last several we've had, he ain't all that bad.
  18. I'm with you except for the pre 64 Winchesters. They'll win out over the Marlin in every way. In a newer rifle, I'd go with the Marlin.
  19. I'm too lazy to try it myself, so I'll ask. If you take the expander ball/ decapping pin out of the die and size a round of brass, how much will it undersize the neck?
  20. Is the die marked 6.5x55? Sounds like you may have a 257 Roberts or similar die instead.
  21. Usually, the outward condition of a rifle is telling of the inside condition. Look for buggered screw heads, cracked wood, barrel bulges, make sure the action functions correctly, etc. I've seen some with pretty stiff triggers, but than can be improved. For the most part, the Marlins were built like a tank. If it looks to suit you, it'll likely be fine. I am not aware of any specific weak points commonly found in the 36/336 series. Parts are readily available if something did happen to break, but it isn't common for them to have problems not caused by abuse/neglect.
  22. I'd give building the boat a shot, but Noah was a better man than me if he brought a breeding pair of mosquitoes onto it.
  23. Here's a pretty good read concerning this discussion. http://www.leverguns...ove-barrels.htm While I shoot a lot of lead bullets in revolvers, I generally shoot jacked bullets in my centerfire rifles and pistols. I am not saying there's anything wrong with cast bullets, it just seems that jacketed bullet reloading is a lot more straightforward.
