  1. Dixie Gun Works is well worth a trip to see in person.
  2. I do not have any scientific evidence to back my opinion, just hearsay and experience.
  3. Liquor ages in wooden barrels. once it is bottled, ageing stops. As far as I am aware, it should taste exactly as it did when it was put into the bottle.

No, I wouldn't say that. They both wear parts eventually. Racking the slide, installing and removing magazines, and just general screwing around with them probably results in more wear than either firing or cleaning. I do still say that tearing down, cleaning, and putting back together DOES contribute to wear and tear. No, but I dang sure don't dissassemble and clean them each time I mow, or drive into town.

I disagree. The simple act of disassembling/reassembling will cause undue wear of most gun designs.
  6. TO everyone who is concerned with the exposed trigger... Assuming the gun is in your back pocket, and there is no other item in the pocket, What on earth could possibly happen to accidentally discharge the gun?
  7. Here's a cheesy quote that has meant a lot to me through the years: "Success isn't the destination; it's the journey." I suppose you could replace the word "success" with "happiness".
  8. I just hand the phone to my 8 year old son when I see an "unidentified" number. He has a big time talking to those clowns. Why is it that politicians are immune from the "do not call" list? I'd vote for anyone who'd pledge to rectify that situation.
  9. My friend, you are on the right track. You need to stop calling yourself ignorant and childish. I wish I'd have been as mature as you seem to be at 23. Then, the only happiness I looked for was found in a cooler or between a girl's thighs.
  10. You'll soon remember just how much cr@p you bump your thumb on every day.
  11. If you aren't going to use it but once, I'd put a ball on the bumper.
  12. If you'd consider buying a regular 870 20 guage with full size wood furniture, I expect my son would trade his youth wood furniture for full size, as he's about to outgrow the short stock.

I wipe off fingerprints, but rarely tear into one and give it a thorough cleaning. As others have stated, I've seen many more guns damaged by cleaning than by shooting.
  14. They all voted the same on the last case, didn't they?
  15. Could Obama make a worse Supreme Court appointment than George Bush made?
  16. He had my vote!
  17. Never sell a Smith! Buy another one, sure. Never sell one.
  18. Any idea why it has two bolt handles?
  19. Looks like a lot of fun. Hate I missed it...except for the long johns! Thanks for sharing.
  20. I see. I was thinking FBI for some reason. Thanks.
  21. Been a few days since I had one apart, but I remember putting the cocking piece against my workbench and pulling it back far enough to expose a slot in which I stick a penny. This keeps it in the cocked position, and makes for easier reassembly as I recall. You just unscrew it.
  22. I see where you are coming from. My point of view is this. Tennesse is hell on earth for those of us who suffer from seasonal allergies. So is a doctor's office for those of us who work for a living. If I could find another medication that would alleviate allergy symtoms as well as Sudafed, I'd use it and not care if there was an outright ban on Pseudoephedrine. Until then, I want my sinus medicine just as bad as an addict wants meth. I'm sure most of you are in the same situation as I am in that it is nearly impossible on my schedule to sit for hours in a doctor's waiting room for something so trivial.
  23. Who gets the $10 fee I pay everytime I am background checked?
  24. I'd have told him he owed the friend $50, or me a refund.
