  1. I'd buy the Colt for collecting, and the Smith and Wesson for shooting. I expect the Colt is likely chambered for 38 Colt, which isn't interchangeable with 38 Special, and very pricey and hard to come by.
  2. I say just sell it. There's no law against it. I've sold 100's of guns, and they may be knocking on my door in the morning, but so far I've not had any problems with "my name" being associated with one. Just curious, have any of you here ever been questioned about a gun you sold? I've always heard the old scenerio about you selling a gun that would then be used in a crime, and the police would come after you. Never heard of an incident of that actually happening, however. I would be interested to hear if it's happened to you.
  3. I don't know about the Ubertis, but the Colt grips supposedly vary so much that most custom grip makers prefer to have the gun in hand in order to fit them properly. I would expect grips for a Colt SAA would roughly fit, as it appears to be an exact copy. What kind of grips are you looking for? You know, there's a Colt SAA in my safe that I've never fired. No one else has either, since it was made in 1967. I may have to change that one day soon.
  4. Looks like a very nice piece. I've always been a nut for Ithaca shotguns, and thought I'd like to have an Ithaca 1911-A1. Just haven't found one I was willing to pay for, and I'm not sure I've ever seen one nicer than yours. Heck, you know how to vacation!
  5. My wife goes on vacation with me. No room in the car trunck for anything like that!
  6. I like it. I don't see how you made it this long without shooting it.
  7. Right, but sadly, as gun owners, we are all lumped in together. If we can help new people to enjoy and be safe in their first experience, maybe we won't see on the news that yet another idiot shoots another at a gun range. Also, the more people we can get to enjoy shooting, the stronger our pro 2nd amendment stance will be.
  8. 2400 for full house loads, and Bullseye for plinkers.
  9. So.....were they hot?
  10. Please verify this as I am not certain, but I believe this rifle will have a different bore daimeter thana recently manufactured 8mm.
  11. He's a good guy....and a BIG mutha too!
  12. An original nickel Smith has an "N" stamped on the gripframe. I can tell you that I'm unaware of any factory nickel 1917s. A refinish will affect the value greatly, and it's value will be only what it's worth as a shooter.
  13. Everyone vote their conscience instaed of voting for who you think has a chance of winning. Also, spend a bit if time educating your friends, family, and co workers about our form of government, the constitution, and the true role of the federal government. Just about everyone I've discussed these things with has been totally unaware of the contents of our constitution. Most seemed at least somewhat interested in learning.

    I have converted

It would be five for a true Single Action Army, as they are carried on an empty cylinder. This doesn't look all that slow to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Vl9FniemlE&feature=related

I don't see cocking a hammer being any slower than clicking off a safety. Both can be done while presenting the gun.
  16. Why, don't be so hard on Mr. Alexander. He IS a Republican after all. At least he isn't a Democrat......I keep telling you guys; there isn't a nickel's difference in them. You'll see in November.
  17. I really enjoyed your website, and look forward to seeing new additions to it. Keep up the great work.
  18. I don't reload a 32 Long, but I do load for 32-20. It can be done very inexpensively, as long as you take care of your brass. As I have a 32 Long Smith and Wesson J frame, I may get a set of dies for it someday. It shoots great, and is indeed a fun little gun to plink with.
  19. $14.99 is a heck of a deal in comparison to any I've seen lately. I was guessing $24.99.
  20. It says sold out. I guess so. The picture is of a 50 round box! Not the 20 I was expecting. I'll bet it was a misprint.
  21. Seriously? A Rossi is a good gun, but a Smith and Wesson won't hold up? Where did you hear this? There was a problem; I believe reported much more often than happened, with the Model 19 K frames. The 110 and 125 grain screamers, after a while, were occasionally cracking forcing cones. They worked fine with heavier projectiles. An L or N frame Smith in 357 will shoot anything you put in it, and more than you'll ever care to buy or load. Heck, Smith and Wesson was the FIRST gun chambered for the 357 Mag. Jerry Miculek isn't shooting a Rossi.
  22. No sir. Just curious.
  23. My brother in law has a backhoe in case you decide on a moat rather than a fence.
  24. I wouldn't personally own anything camoflauge, but anyone who's ever bought me a gift seems to think since I'm a gun guy, and deer hunt, that something; ANYTHING camo would make the perfect gift. Now, if you need a wallet, and have one laying around someone gave you, would you use it, or trash it and go out and buy another one in a different color?
  25. So, how do you guys feel about compound bows? Mechanical releases?
