  1. One thing that sticks in my mind about West Tennessee is the absence of livestock. You’ll see an abundance of fenced family farms, and the occasional horse, but there just ain’t a cow anywhere! What’s up with that?
  2. I’m glad for it. Last year, the crowd was pretty sparse. This year brought a very impressive crowd. Maybe it’s working.
  3. I’m unclear on why or how this takes place, but every year, the Nashville Symphony comes to the city park in our little town and plays a concert. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. If you’ve never heard them, don’t cheat yourself. They are amazing!
  4. We went last year and stayed at the cabins at the dam. Loved it. We intend to go to Big Ridge park on the upper end of the lake sometime. Wifey says the next trip is to Mackinac Island.
  5. We’ve sort of been on a kick of seeing all we can of Tennessee. It makes for neat and inexpensive short trips. We’ve been to Reelfoot, LBL, Pickwick, Montgomery Bell, and Jackson. I think that will about do us for West Tennessee. We’ve seen most of Middle Tennessee, and a lot of the Smoky Mountains and surrounding areas in Southeasr Tennessee. I think we’ll focus on Northeast Tennessee next. I sure appreciate all the suggestions you guys provide.
  6. Man, you were right! Ain’t much there. Fish weren’t biting either. It was still nice to get away. You can’t hardly get there from here either. We found some really cool restaurants down there.
  7. I think so. Grab it and see if you can move it around with your hands. If not, it’ll ride. Unless you’re going over some very rough terrain at high speeds, it really doesn’t take a lot to keep the bike in place. That actually looks like overkill to me, but that isn’t a bad thing.
  8. Wife and I rode over to the folk medicine festival in RBS today. It’s beginning to feel like summer now!
  9. This wouldn’t work for you because of the topper, but I always put mine in the bed with the front tire against the front of the bed, or usually the toolbox. Two straps from the handlebars to the strap hooks in the front corners of the bed was all it ever took. Never a problem. Once you’ve ridden this some, I’d be interested in hearing you compare it with the electric bike. I’ve owned a 125 CR, so I have that point of reference. I’ve no idea what the e bike feels like.
  10. It doesn’t matter much where you put it. You just want to keep the back wheel from bouncing off in the event you hit a really rough bridge end or something.
  11. I detest ratchet straps. I always just hooked a pull tight strap on either side of the handle bar. Since you have it on that rack and not in the bed, I’d probable run a third one through the back wheel spokes and just cinch it down snug.
  12. Well, crowds really aren’t my thing. Sounds like my kind of place. We’ll go check out the battlefield. Thanks!
  13. Now here’s a turn of events. I think she’s decided on Pickwick. I’ve certainly never been there. If you have suggestions for places to see, places to eat, how to catch Fisk, etc., I would be grateful.
  14. I bet there are some unhappy folks who bought annual range passes.
  15. I can make a suitable holster…I think.
  16. I’ll teak it!!! Private massage inbound.
  17. Danger IS a relative thing I reckon.
  18. I just don’t go where the bears are.

  20. 45-70 BFR!
  21. I smoked a Boston butt for lunch today. Our house seems like the place to go for Sunday lunch. The older son and his wife came. The younger son brought his girlfriend and her little sister. We try to have plenty because you never know who’ll show up. No idea about tomorrow. We might go for a long bike ride and stop by a restaurant.
  22. Nice, but you won’t get that screw out with it!
  23. You got it, brother!!!
