1. Monarch shoots just fine in my Mini 14. Don't know about an AR.
2. I would like to uncase one of those at a turkey shoot and see the expressions on everyone's face.
3. I think I'd like to have one as well, but I believe I'll sit out the buying frenzy and pick one up after it has settled down.
4. As others have stated, I would also suggest you start with a single stage press to get the hang of things. You can buy a Lee press pretty inexpensively. Then, if you still want a progressive press, you'll still find occasional uses for the single stage, such as new load development, or any time you just want to load a few to try for whatever reason.
5. I am glad you asked the question before giving it a shot on your own. As others have said, pick up a reloading manual and read it before you go any further. I do not know of a powder that would work for both a 45 and a 223. If there is, it certainly isn't ideal. Pistols and shotguns use a real fast burning powder, while rifles need a powder with a much slower burn rate. As you have more questions, there are many knowledgeable people here who I'm sure will be glad to assist you. Were you closer, I'd be glad to walk you through the process. I expect there are others closer to you who'd do the same.
6. Yeah....that looks real handy.
7. What is that one thing that, no matter what, UT always does Derrick Dooley?
8. Thanks everybody. It has been a good day. We spent the afternoon preparing it to make jerky. He doesn't understand why I'd rather see him get a deer than to get one myself. He'll understand when he has kids of his own.
9. Can I get a big ANCHOR DOWN!!! for those Dores??!!!??
10.
Allow me to assist Nice looking deer.
How'd you do that?
11.
Dang! Good for you and your son, that's a nice deer. ...I like the gun, too!
The rifle is special. My father (his grandfather) built one for each of my boys.
12. Dangit! Photobucket won't work this morning, and I can't figure out flickr.
13. My son made a great 200 yard shot on this 150lb 6 point buck! http://www.flickr.co...N04/8193187569/ <a href="http://www.flickr.co...N04/8193187569/" title="Austin's 6 pointer-Nov 2012 by gregintenn, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticf..._c34d2787f6.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Austin's 6 pointer-Nov 2012"></a>
14. Why do they expire anyway? Why don't marriage licenses expire?
15. I'm calm. I just find it frustrating that public servants can't count to 6. When these folks are in charge of your healthcare.....YOU GONNA DIE!!!!!!!
16.
all of this may actually be beneficial to us.
How's that?
17. Somebody tell me Why Patraeus lost his job and Bill Clinton did not?
18. No need to worry about this.....David Patreaus was boinking his biographer! That's what you should focus on.
19.
gjohnsoniv If I could make one comment on your holster. One of the first things I learned from a safety standpoint was to completely cover the trigger guard. By not doing so you are asking for trouble.
Where did you learn that, and why is it trouble? I do understand a covered trigger is required for IDPA competition, but short of that, I'd like to see evidence of a holster with a partially, or even fully exposed trigger causing an accidental discharge.
20. Should be the 4th of November, no? Nov4-Dec4=1 month Dec4-Jan4=2 months Jan4-Feb4=3 months Feb4-Mar4=4 months Mar4-Apr4=5 months Apr4-May4=6 months Did I do that wrong?
21. ...as mine expires May 4, 2013. The lady on the phone told me she couldn't send one until it was less than six months before the expiriation. One of us needs a math lesson.
22. My tops are usually shot at that time as well. I'd guess around $40 for a resole, but that is strictly a guess. A call to your local shoe repair store would probably in order to know for sure.
23.
But that's not right! It's a Prius! There is no way a BMW is better! I always have wondered how good for the environment are those batteries that only last a limited amount of time?
What does it cost to dispose of all these batteries once they've run their life cycle? If you figure the cost of the Prius, along with the fact that the battery is good for 100k miles and costs about $10k to replace, making it a disposable car at that point, you'll never come close to breaking even financially as opposed to buying a conventional car. I guess saving the planet feels good though, huh?
24. I remember the world was going to end new year's 2000, when Bush was elected, etc. It isn't good, but this too will pass.
25. I usually get 3-4 years out of a pair of Red Wings. 1 year is a good life for other brands.
