1. Phil Valentine said it elloquently yesterday. He asked if guns are bad, why do we give police officers guns? I just can't wrap my head around the theory that anyone with a gun can suddenly go crazy and start shooting people; anybody, that is, but an LEO.
  2.
The odds of that are more than very slim! It's a safety issue! Dave S
Why? I deer hunt with a centerfire. Not trying to be a smart a$$; just not following you.
  3. Had the OP told the LEO "No" when asked if he had a firearm, would the LEO have dragged him out of the car and frisked him, or would he likely have gone on about his business? Since the OP was honest about it, I wouldn't expect him to be much of a threat. You all can cheerlead for law enforcment all you want, but I see this as nothing but intimidation.
  4.
I like this collection, no telling now many millions sitting inside that safe http://www.snopes.co...re/gunvault.asp
Now that's more to my liking!
  5. They are "Cheaper than Dirt", so tape is extra.
  6.
The heavy duty table is the one I am thinking about building. I would adapt as needed. It is number 5 on the PDF. http://www.strongtie...Y-PROJECT08.pdf
I would suggest you not makt the bottom shelf as wide as the top of the table as shown in the picture. You need space for your feet/legs under the table without knocking bruises on your ankles or shins. I built mine out of 2x4 and 2x6 lumber; top and all. 7.
4. Lower the cost of license as it's to damned expensive to hunt here!
This!!!^^^ Also, I'd like to be able to hunt small game and turkeys with a centerfire rifle/handgun.
  8.
Just a thought, would like to hear all arguments. How bout a flat tax so it won't be hard to prove that you pay taxes and a limit on only taxpayers can vote. That would fix the free stuff buying of elections. If the everyone was a productive member of society then this wouldn't be a problem but social programs have made purchasing an election to easy. JTM Sent from my iPhone
Sounds good, but how in the hell do you think you'd get politicians to pass it? I've always thougt that a person should be allowed 1 vote in a federal election for every dollar he/she paid in federal income taxes the previous year. There again, it would be counterproductive for any politician to even consider such a thing.
  9. Let us know how that all turns out.
  10. I've bought from them before. Great business in my opinion.
  11. ....and thought I'd share with you all that they have a current promotion of free shipping with $150 order! Not a bad deal if anyone here needs some ammo or reloading supplies.
  12. Legal or not, they make a great first deer rifle for a child.
  13. It bears a resemblance to something Mossberg or Revelation would have put out.
  14.
I may have to get me a Greg holster, if I can talk him into it.
Not for thirty bucks!
  15.
What is a good inexpensive holster for a Ruger Blackhawk in 4 5/8" barrel? I don't really want a western style, but I would like leather. I'd like to keep it around $30 if possible.
You might dig through the boxes of used holsters at your local gun store or at tables at gunshows. $30 won't buy the material for a decent leather holster, let alone a finished product.
  16. If both barrels are marked with an "IV" inside a box, what choke would this indicate?
  17.
Wound up getting this one... http://www.ableammo....e-p-116282.html
Love it!!! I can't wait to hear a range report. I really like the checkered grips.
  18. I'm getting a list together to place an order, and thinking about adding some 380 reloading dies, brass, bullets, etc. to it. Seems like it would be more beneficial and cost effective than loading 9mm, which I currently do. However, the 9mm is small enough I find it sort of a pain to work with. I know the 380 will be worse. Let's here your thoughts.
  19.
When in to DMV in Johnson CityThurday I had received my renewal in the mail,But had to complete a form there could not use the renewal form. Said would take about 3 months, get it in the mail, mine expires in Feb. Sure take along time, why not like my car plates!
Why couldn't you use the form you got in the mail?

    Male Logic

    What's funny?
  21.
One realistic and achievable change would be the various states convening a Constitutional Convention to repeal the 16th Amendement. With no income tax, the Federal Government would be cut off from one of its most intrusive sources of money. Repealing the Federal Income Tax would significantly strangle the power of the Federal Government. It would have to be replaced with significantly higher State Income Taxes or other sources of revenue, but it would also make the Federal Government accountable to the States. This one change, over which the Federal Government has no control whatsoever, would rapidly re-establish the 10th Amendment Sovereignty of the various States. The States decide to convene a Constitutional Convention and accoring to the Constitution, the Federal Government has no role. I'd rather petition for a Redress of Grievances to Nashville than to Washington D.C. At the very least, we can stand on the grounds of Legislative Plaza and the State Capitol and bully our legislators in person. The Sixteenth Amendment (Amendment XVI) to the United States Constitution allows the Congress to levy an income tax without apportioning it among the states or basing it on Census results. This amendment exempted income taxes from the constitutional requirements regarding direct taxes, after income taxes on rents, dividends, and interest were ruled to be direct taxes in Pollock v. Farmers' Loan & Trust Co. (1895). http://en.wikipedia....es_Constitution
Your proposal makes a lot more sense than seccession petitions.
  22. I can't think of any aspect of your life that couldn't be controlled under the auspice of "protecting the public's health." This was thought I had the very first time I heard about National Healthcare.
  23.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

ObamaCare would be the most glaring example. There are countless examples of other tent amendment violations that go on in perpituity, that were enacted before Obama, but continue to grow and thrive. Dept of Education, Homeland Security, FEMA, EPA, DHS, etc. If you actually read the constitution, the Federal Government is ennumerated very few and specific powers. As I see it, these include National Defense, Post Office, the Mint, Federal Law Enforcement and Courts, and probably a few more I'm forgetting.
  24.
I would love to have a cowboy gun for nothing more than a range toy. My problem is that I want my copy of a SAA to be DA. Unfortunately the only manufacturers that do that are foreign; so not an option for me. I keep hoping Ruger will do the Vaquero in DA, but I’m not holding my breath because I’m sure they would take a lot of heat.
Original Colt Thunderers and Lightnings can still be found at not too astromonical prices.
