I'll never intentionally give the Lebanon bunch another dollar! The last show, the guy checking guns at the entrance grabbed my like new, unfired rifle and slammed it on a table. I said something about it, and he got sort of smart with me. Should have belted him in the mouth, but I chose not to make a scene. Also, there wasn't anything worth having at the show. What a waste and an excersise in frustration.

My guess is a paradox gun, which is meant to be both a rifle and shotgun. Are the ends of the bores rifled? The express sights with the ivory front bead lead me to believe this. I'm guessing a 12 bore.   Although it's little more than a wall hanger at this point, I'm really liking it! Thanks for sharing.

Here's the route I went, except I'd start with 2.7. Semi wadcutters work well too if wadcutters aren't to be found.

The # on the butt is your serial #. According to the book I have, #1 was produced in 1950, and #786,554 was produced in 1969, after which the serial #s began with a "J" prefix. From that, I'm guessing late 60s. Neat revolver!

I'd suggest a model 60 Marlin. With $200, you can get one and nearly enough ammo to wear it out. Great rifles for the price.

Looks like a dandy custom 03 sporter. I expect it is a better rifle than most anything available new today; definitely a lot cooler!

I would strongly suggest hanging on to it. Assuming it stays in that condition, it should appreciate in value at a much higher rate than savings accounts, cds, etc.

It is  target revolver, and they were available with an 8 3/8" barrel. Hope this helps.   You won't be able to retire using the proceeds of the sale, but it is a fairly desireable revolver, and would make a great shooter. Factory boxes, papers, and cleaning kits add generously to the value of Smith revolvers. My wild guess would be $600-$800.

Likely a bad primer if it didn't fire on the second attempt. Not common; but they do happen. If you encounter several, you probably have a weak spring.

Money well spent!   You probably didn't get the primer seated fully; thus the reason for your misfire. I'll bet the firing pin seated the primer. Did you try to fire it again? It probably would have the second time.

And where are those available at the moment?

In the next to last picture, are those some sort of folding express sights or what? Does it have a front bead or some sort of sight? What diameter are the barrel bores? They wouldn't by chance be rifled would they?   That's an interesting gun to me. I'd like to see the wood, front sight/bead, and buttplate. Wouldn't have a clue what to tell you it is, but would be interesting to see. Looks like a fairly high quality piece.

Peel and slice them, and place them on the dehydrator. You can soak them in a citric acid solution first if you don't like them turning brown. They are great for fried pies or fried apples, as well as just snacking on them as is.

You know what? I have them. I paid for them. They are legal. They are mine. If a sorry politician attempts to change that, then screw them!

I primed about 1200 9mm cases today while watching Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. Reloading is where it's at guys!
