I've replaced the firing pin on mine. Could you post a link for the decocker fix?
-
For an investment, I'd buy a Colt. For using, I'd buy a Rock Island, and a BUNCH of ammo.
-
Me either. I was being sarcastic. The decocking lever on a CZ 52 performs the same function as the trigger.
-
You are more than welcome to point my CZ 52 at your foot and depress the decocker if you have that much faith in decockers. It hasn't been screwed with, and has been fired very little.

You know what would make me fell better? (Small Rant)

I'd like to not see all the new products in the gun magazines each month until the gun and ammo manufacturers can actually put their old familiar offerings on the dealers' shelf. -
Screw compromise! You want compromise? Feinstein has proposed an assault weapon ban. I want to abolish the ATF and do away with the class 3 designation. I'll give up doing away with the class 3 license, and you drop the assault weapon ban. There's your compromise. We'll still get rid of the ATF.

I cannot believe how many here are ready to just roll over and take it! We are in the right here. You DO NOT compromise when you are 100% right. You are playing into the progressives' hands. They'd like you to give a little now, and then next year when something else happens that stirs them up, then you will be expected to "compromise" again. When do you see them compromose?
-
We are right; they are wrong. We have the U.S. Constitution to back us.; they have lies, distortion, and a complicit media. Why the hell do you want to compromise??!!?? I've got your reasonable gun control: I'll control mine, and you control yours. Everything else isn't negotible.

I am quite ignorant of law enforcement protocol. That being said, It is hard for me to wrap my head around any entity having the right to take your personal belongings from your home without making an arrest. Also, you have to love the unbiased reporting. They seemed utterly amazed and shocked to find there were about two dozen rifles in the house. A lot of us would call the owner a rookie.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=327149906 Now this is just getting ridiculous. The shipping alone is more than the retail price of the ammo! :squint:

Looks good in the pic! The M1 remains one of a very few items left on my wishlist.

Oops.....I deleted mine. :snore:

LOL! You reminded me of this classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_DEp1lz0CM Probably NWS!!! -
I may well be proven wrong one day, and I pray not, but I trust my children with firearms more than a large percentage of adults I come in contact with.

Mine shoots the cheap steel cased Russian stuff about as well as anything else. 55-62 grain bullets work better than heavier ones. I've yet to find anything that won't function properly in it.
-
I'll go one further. I do not own a weapon. I own rifles, shotguns, pistols, and revolvers.

Confused about powder grains
gregintenn replied to charlessummers's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
...and if you want to truly be anal about it, you can further tweak your load by trimming cases each loading, and seperating them by headstamp and then by weight. You can also tinker with different seating depths and amounts of crimp. You can go far as you want to go with it. -
Range brass picked up, or reloading some you already have-free 100 primers -$3-$4 100 55 grain FMJ -$9-$12 Powder for 100 rounds -$6-$8 So on average, $3.50+$10.50+$7=18 cents a round x 20=$3.60 per box. You can spend a bit more for premium bullets, benchrest primers, or the latest whizzbang powder, but this will give you an idea. David has what you need to load 223. I expect you can put together a pretty comprehensive, basic reloading setup for less than $200.

Confused about powder grains
gregintenn replied to charlessummers's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
What brand are the bullets? I'd go with the load data for them. Different bullets can have different overall lengths, when seated to the same overall cartridge length, can affect case capicity, therefore changing pressures even with the same powder charge. I wouldn't go by the Alliant recipe unless I were using the exact components listed. If you don't own a reloading manual, you should really get one....or two....or three. I would suggest you start by loading a few at the minimum load and shoot them. Then, you can load a few more with an increased powder charge and shoot them. When you begin to see high pressure signs, back off some. If you reach the maximum listed load without pressure signs, stop there. Somewhere in this range, you'll likely find a load that shoots very well and functions well in your gun. Next, you can start the process over with a different bullet, or powder, or both. Finding that perfect load is one of the best parts of reloading. -
I've heard good reviews for the accu struts, but I wouldn't put one on my rifle because of the added weight and gaudy looks of the product. I've done a bit of tinkering with mine, as well as load development, and I've come to accept that it is a 2-2.5 MOA rifle. I had a friend that is now passed, and I've seen him shoot less than 1" groups at 100 yards with his in the prone position. I sure wish I'd have asked him what all he did to it. It appeared factory on the outside.
