  1. Looks like about 0.31" difference in case length between them. If you have enough thread on the die, it should work. No harm in trying.
  2. I've seen several instances of people failing a background check at gun stores. Enough so that I believe it is a common occurance. To my knowledge, these people aren't procecuted for attempting to break the law by attempting to unlawfully purchase a firearm. Why aren't these folks dealt with legally?
  3. Don't discount the used market. I picked up this model 39-2 a while back for $375. It was like new, and came with 4 magazines, box, tools, and all paperwork.
  4. Ouch!!! :ugh:
  5. I bought 13 boxes of Romanian stuff after asking this. Doing some cleaning up, I stumbled across it today, and had forgotten about it. I think there are 72 per box, and the cases are headstamped with a 22 on top, and an 85 on the bottom. What are they bringing today?
  6. Looks like a tool for opening cans of Skoal.
  7.   I have several bricks of Remington 22lr from the 40's or 50's. They still go bang, and have been stored in a non climate controlled garage for years.
  8.   Thanks. I have been informed that the "Keep out of reach of children" warning found on the box began in 1962. The cases are marked FCC, for Federal Cartridge Coorp. I imagine they let this stuff out for bids, and wouldn't be surprised of Winchester, Remington, etc., got in on some production as well. I know several companies made guns under the Sears and Ted Williams brands.
  9.   China I would imagine.
  10. Here's Tripp. He's the best friend a guy could have.
  11. Santa brought me this Wheeler set several years back, and try as I may, I've yet to brek or bend any of them. Also, I've not yet found a screw something in here won't fit. It ain't cheap, but it sure beats buggered screw heads on your prized guns.                                 http://www.midwayusa.com/product/439523/wheeler-engineering-89-piece-professional-plus-gunsmithing-screwdriver-set
  12. I read a lot of questions on gun boards regarding old ammunition. Will ot shoot? Is it safe? How long does it last? I'm hoping someone can date this ammo. I'm guessing it's from the 60's if not before, as the label proudly proclaims non corrosive primers and smokeless powder. Anyway, I'm happy to report that it does indeed fire just like new ammunition. Also, my 100 yard group isn't that great, but if you've been outside today, you'll know the wind gusts aren't agreeable for long range accuracy.
  13. You ever thought about trying a Ruger? :D Nice looking display.
  14. Hang it on the wall for sentimental reasons, and buy a nice Mosin to shoot. You'll come out cheaper, and still accomplish what you want in the end.
  15. You asked for advice, so here it is: You won't ever buy a safe as big as you will need. There are many things like wife's jewelry, car titles, family photos, coin collection, pocket knives, insurance documents, etc. that you will put in your safe. Also, the smart money says that you aren't finished buying guns either.
  16.   What's wrong with the new one? I thought the square tray was the only difference. I was thinking about getting one, as I've nearly worn out my old one.
  17. Buy a Lee hand primer. You'll thank me later.
  18. Welcome to TGO. You are going to have to show us pictures of the Winchester!
  19. Welcome to the United States of America!
  20. Come on in! My grandaddy came from Ponotoc, MS.
  21. I've wondered for years why the American Civil Liberties Union hasn't been screaming about gun control. To me it is definitely a civil liberty issue. At least now, I can feel they are on my side for something.
  22. Sure....part of the year.              http://www.tnwatchablewildlife.org/details.cfm?displayhabitat=water&sort=aounumber&typename=water&uid=09060415332248561&commonname=Wilson's%20Snipe
  23.   In my lifetime, I've noticed a sharp contrast in attitude among them as well.
  24. My wife would be good at a filabuster. She can talk uninterupted for more than 13 houurs straight.
  25.   ...unless you are swimming or on fire.
