The Bill of Rights was written for Dzhokar Tsarnaev

Yup.....so was a speedy trial and the death penalty. -
I didn't realize the Cabbage Patch Kids had assault rifles!

Depends on what I'm carrying. I don't load for a 380, so I carry factory ammo in them. A 9mm is small enough that is seems somewhat difficult to handload. I don't have the desire to try and load anything smaller. Anything else is probably loaded with reloads.

I'm certainly no Herb Parsons nor Tom Knapp, but a Sunday afternoon spent blasting away is still a common family event here at my house.

Same here. :surrender:

To be honest and fair to you, most of the people I work with should have been fired long ago as well. Perhaps I expect too much from humans in general. Both jobs can be dangerous, although most are safe most of the time. As you said, there are many dangerous professions. I just wanted to highlight one I was familiar with. I've had enough bad experiences with law enforcement employees over the span of my life to make it impossible to chalk it up to coincidence or bad luck. I'm glad your experience has been different. Try not to take one guy's opinion so seriously, and you'll enjoy your stay on this crazy spinning ball much more.

Depends on where you are. These are a patchwork of local laws.

You be the judge. I work in the middle of the road for a living. Since the 50's, there have been over 100 TDOT employees killed at work, as well as countless contractors. I am regularly cursed, threatened, have garbage thrown at me, guns pointed at me, chased by dogs and livestock, etc. I am not allowed to carry a firearm for protection on the job. I expect no recognition, praise, or anything else, other than the compensation agreed to between my employer and myself. I enjoy building roads and bridges. I believe it provides a valuable service to the public, even though many do not agree. I do not carry a chip on my shoulder, and do not understand why many with a badge do. Many people work in hazardous conditions. I've never known a police who was drafted into service. They chose the profession, and all that comes with it.

What does the bible say about buying beer on Sunday? I've never understood blue laws either.

From what I've seen, a good portion of them are just that. I NEVER said "all". We have some good guys up here; very few, but good guys. You keep trying to change what I say so you can get all butt hurt for some reason. Perhaps if the FOP would quit supporting and covering up for the bad ones, the good ones could get the respect they deserve. An LEO has a job. He or she should be expected to do that job. I've never understood why some of them expect to be put on a pedestal and honored for simply doing their job. We don't do this for other professions.

Looks as good as any other AR to me. It sort of favors a paintball gun. It is sad that politicians believe this is somehow safer than a run of the mill AR.
-
When I was a child, a policeman was a man to be respected and looked up to. Today's LEOs aren't the same guys as the ones I grew up around.

Unimpressed with police work in Boston
gregintenn replied to jgradyc's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I thought they did a great job catching the two suspects. Way better than the LEOs in California trying to catch Dorner. The worst I saw was some poor muzzle control by a few on news footage. -
David won't kick you out for moving! Hang around here.

If you'll read my earlier post, I said as long as they were professional and courteous, I would invite them in to have a look around. I said most; not all. Sounds like something a teacher would say. I guess union is union. Are you implying that I couldn't?

Was it chrome tanned or vegetable tanned? I've read you don't want to make holsters and the like from chrome tanned leather.

I don't intend to help nor hinder law enforcement. I intend to leave them alone. Assuming I'm doing nothing wrong, I would like the same in return from them. Now that's just silly! Most leo's I've met are leo's because frankly, they're too sorry to do much else, or else they get a thrill out of screwing with people. Either way, if they are busy searching for an armed and dangerous criminal, they're waaaaaaay to busy to be screwing with you.

You'll want the paperwork as well. You'll sooner or later find what you want on gunbroker, ebay, or in the classified section of Smith-Wesson.com. Heck, I want to see pics of the revolver! What barrel length? I've got one here; a 4" in nickel. Man it is smooth and fun to shoot. It is a reloader's cartridge, however. I'm still on the hunt for a reasonably priced model 58, 4". The 57 isn't seen every day, but the fixed sighted 58 is like finding teeth in a chicken.

I want to believe that were I that officer, I would have finished the search, closed the door back, thanked the guy for his assistance, left, and forgot all about what I saw.

Giffords 'furious' about Senate gun control votes
gregintenn replied to Beretta Bob's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I hate like everything she was shot, and feel pity for her. However, the evil S.O.B.s that keep dragging her out in front of cameras to promote their agenda are no better, in my opinion, than the demon who shot her. -
I disagree. It is mine, and it is THE place where I can do as I damn well please within the bounds of the law and other people's rights.
-
If one or more of my local law enforcement agents knocked on my door, and politely and professionally explained the situation and what they were looking for, and it made sense, I would invite them in to have a look around. If they kicked the door in in the middle of the night unannounced, I'm doing all I can to protect my family from an unwelcome intruder. If they couldn't or wouldn't explain what was going on to my satisfaction, they would be asked to leave at once. They need to find the guy, and I am not going to interfere.....BUT HE AIN'T HERE!!!
