Now the motorcycle I like, but I can't imagine what kind of sick ****** would dedicate the time, money, labor, talent, etc. into screwing up an otherwise beautiful classic Smith and Wesson.

Wow! That's exactly how I picture a staff meeting going in D.C.

Ever reloaded something & it scared you?
gregintenn replied to Handsome Rob's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
May I ask why not? I've found that lots of times, a compressed load coincides with the best choice of powder for a given cartridge. It also prevents overcharging a cartridge by accident. Also, I've never fired anything other than a compressed load from a shotgun or muzzleloader. I can't imagine it being a problem in a rifle, as long as it is a tested load published in a mainstream reloading manual. -
Well, there's a conceal carry option I hadn't considered before. :shake:

Are you putting lube on the shoulders and necks of your cases? If so, DON'T!!! You should put a very light coat on the straight part of the case body only, and perhaps just a touch on the rim of the case mouth. What are you using for lube? I like the Lee tube of wax based lube. Take the die apart and look inside it. The inside should be smooth and cylindrical, and shaped like your brass case. I'm betting the die is fine. I have a bunch of RCBS dies, and aside from breaking the occasional decapping pin, I've had no trouble with them. I prefer Lee dies, but for reasons not linked to the problem you're having. Could you post a picture of your brass after sizing?

I'll be damned if it don't look hot pink in the photo. There's nothing quite like a good dog.

Nice hat! :stunned:

Sure. Have you met some of the folks that hang out at the launching ramps?

Purchase a quality leather holster.

You definitely need a reloading manual or three before proceeding any further.

Need help identifying/valuing an old L C Smith Field Grade 20g SXS

Very rarely do I go to South Nashville. Thank you for the offer anyway. Here's my Ithaca 20. I really like it, and have been shooting 2 3/4" shells in it. Then I read where it might be chambered for 2 1/2". I really like it and don't want to blow it up. I should get the chambers measured so I'll know for sure. The 2 1/2" shells would be good anyway because it weighs nearly nothing, and is rough on the shoulder with regular shells. -

http://www.rstshells.com/store/p/18-20-Ga-2-1-2-Lite-Vel-1125-7-8-oz-Load.aspx $11 per box here. I'm thinking about trying a case in my old Ithaca. http://shop.polywad.com/product.sc?productId=39 $10 per box here if you buy a case. Higher than 2 3/4", but today, the price isn't too out of line. -
Syria: Does Use of Chemical Weapons Change Anything?
gregintenn replied to TMF's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yes I do, actually. Moreover, I do not want nor expect Syria, Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, Iraq, etc. to come here and try to straighten out our problems. I don't expect many of them want us there either. -

They're going to kill somebody. That's how they've been bred and raised for thousands of years. I figure that as long as they are busy killing each other, they're leaving us alone. Why should we get involved. We would only go kill some of them, and they're already doing that without our assistance. This way, none of our men and women get killed in the process. -
Wow! Thanks for sharing, and I'm sorry this happened to you. I've never heard of that before. Do you think it was static electricity from your fingers, or something from the cell phone? Hope you get better soon!

Can someone explain to me what these people obviously baiting a race war intend to gain from it once it happens? I don't expect it to be easy to stop once it gets started. I also don't see it being far off in the future.

I haven't found a bad place in Tennessee, save for Memphis. I'll give you a bit of advice. When you come here, forget everything you think you know as it relates to politics, religion, and "the way we do it in New York". Also, do not comment on anyone's southern accent. We don't like that here. If you insist on "doing it the way we did in New York", stay in New York. Tennessee is a different place in every way imaginable. I guess the area depends on whether you prefer mountains, hills, or billiard table flat land. We have it all from mountains in the east to flat land in the west. If you enjoy sneezing and sweating in the summer and shoveling snow in the winter, Tennessee is for you.

I happened to be listening to Beck's radio broadcast one morning when he found out about it. He was carrying on about the Trevon Martin case when a lady from Knoxville called and talked about this. He had no idea, as he isn't in Tennessee, and the story never made the national news. During the next break, he read about it on the internet, and when he came back, he went off! What doesn't get reported in the news is much more telling than what does get reported in my opinion.

It'll be good as anything you can lay hands on for your intended purposes, in my opinion. I would check the availability and price of ammunition before buying. Most likely it won't be a problem, but at least you'll know for sure. A 25-06 is a great round for the reloader.

A Marlin model 39 lever 22 is guaranteed to put a smile on someone's face. Be prepared to shell out some cash for one though.
