  1. Yes, actually, that IS what I 'd like.
  2. Hey! I finally got my scope mounts, so yesterday I sighted mine in, and even in the howling wind, with cheap bulk bullets, I was getting consistent 1" 100 yard groups. I am interested in working up an accuracy load with good bullets and seeing what it will do in calm conditions. Although it's ugly, I'm pleased with how mine turned out for a first attempt. Thanks to everyone who offered help and advice.
  3. I'm impressed with all of you guys. I never would have guessed this would have went 17 pages without being locked and someone getting banned. Hang in there guys!
  4. I think GQ magazine was the big winner in all this. Until this week, I had no idea it was even still in publication. I can't imagine how many copies they sold with this issue, but it surely will be a record.
  5. My wife's learned to live with it. Spend some time with her, keep all the bills paid, and treat her to something nice once and a while, and she'll get used to it as well.
  6. I don't know what kind of money you make, but another option would be to really crank down and pay the car off quickly. Extra job, overtime, no splurging, etc. You said you liked the car and it is reliable. You always stand the chance of buying a lemon next time.   If you do this, forget about the house till the car is paid off. Then and only then do you start saving for the house. It'll suck in the short term, but you'll be really glad you did it in the long term.   Oh yeah, don't EVER borrow money to buy a depreciating asset again.     Carmax.....I stopped at a Carmax once, and a lady stopped me before I got in the door and asked me if I'd ever been there. I told her no, that I just wanted to look at their cars. She told me she had to explain to me how they did things there before I was welcome to look around. She was quite snotty, condescending, and arrogant about it. I told her I was the one with the money they wanted, and we could do things my way or I could go elsewhere. We agreed the second option would be better, and I have never been to another one.
  7. Wait till you learn what the meaning of "is" is!!!
  8. THat's what I expected as well. Boy was I enlightened! :panic:
  9. I don't care much for the show, but if you ask an honest man a question; don't be offended by his answer.
  10. It's a computer generated guess. It all works out right on April 15.
  11.           http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1w7Fh7VNto Well, if Tim Wilson says he is......
  12. ...AND NO SHEEP! :ugh:    What were you looking for when you stumbled across that gem?
  13. I have 12 and 20 gauge Ithaca doubles. I shoot clays with them as well as hunt with them occasionally. I like doubles. I find that I seem to shoot better with the 12, but the 20 sure is light and trim.   I also have a 20 gauge Browning Citori. I prefer the looks and feel of the doubles, but to tell the truth, I probably shoot better with the over under.   Heck, buy both! No way you'll be wrong then.   I'm a believer that a shotgun should have two barrels.
  14. It wasn't a trick question. I don't know much about ARs, and honestly, short of the triggers and stocks, I haven't been able to discern much difference in quality between brands. My Bushmaster functions flawlessly, and shoots tiny 100 yard groups. Perhaps I'm lucky and got a good one, but more likely, I just don't know enough to know what to look for.   What QC issues should I look for?   Thanks for responding.
  15. Well hell, you learn something new every day.
  16. ...and for those of you who also find a flame thrower useful, try the M44 Carbine!   If the bullet don't hit him, the fire will.
  17. We're here with you. I wish I had more to offer. This is something we will all have to face sooner or later. Knowing that doesn't make it any easier, however.   Our thoughts and prayers are still with your grandson as well.
  18. Would you mind if I ask why?
  19. Mine are usually loaded, save for a few odd ones I use for load development. I don't know what I'll put in them next, so they don't really need to stay loaded. There are plenty of others that are loaded if needed.
  20. Yeah, I swapped the sights and grips, but everything else is satisfactory to my standards.
  21. You're a damned good photographer!   Why don't you consider selling that truck and buying one someone else already butchered....eh, I mean customized.
  22. I've got a Bushmaster. I'm no expert, but it seems to be a good rifle. That doesn't sound too bad with the ammo and all, but AR prices have dropped drastically, in the past few months. It sounds like a great selection for a Christmas gift.
  23. You got it!!!   Keep us posted as to his condition.
  24. ...and stake it and weld it and..... :stunned:
  25. I found mine to be easier to put together than most of the crap my wife buys the kids for Christmas.   I know very little about AR stuff, but these receivers seem to be of very good quality. I know I'm happy with mine. Thanks Cross Machine  Tool! :usa:   I like having things that were manufactured here in Tennessee.
