I realize that in your own mind, you think you are helping the cause of gun owners. With the attitude you've displayed in this thread, coupled with you wearing a firearm for everyone to see, is not.   I don't care how many people you pizz off, or convert to gun owners, or whatever. The part that bothers me is that you are casting a negative image over ALL gun owners, which I am one.   When I was a kid at 4-H camp, someone took a dump in the pool. Not only did he get thrown out of the pool, everyone there got thrown out of the pool. You, sir, are pooping in the pool.

I find that you and I see eye to eye on most any subject discussed here except this one. I intend to keep my opinion on the subject to myself from now on. Perhaps you won't feel the need to be so defensive then. :hat:

As I figure this thread is aimed squarely at me, I'll tell you I like this forum, and appreciate all the time and effort David and the mods put into it. Therefore, I'll do my best to not mention anything further about LEOs.   Thanks for the warning.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply they did anything wrong, I was just adding what little I knew about the subject.   I believe Vanderbilt employs their own police/security. I expect it was that rather than metro cops or something.

My wife works there, and was told the lady over her supervisor was let go this morning with no warning, and escorted out by police.

I agree. That, and part of the bad image comes from the good ones sticking p for the bad ones instead of rebuking, or in extreme cases, purging them.

I understand that a person can't be expected to know everything, but with the internet and smart phones, one could check.

I don't know that one brand is better than another inside a given price range. Most of what you hear is strictly personal preference.   I have a Bushmaster that is accurate and works exactly as it should without fail.   My father has a Colt that does exactly the same.

It does, and we have more than one neighbor I expect would be willing to help out as well. I realize that I am in the minority on this, as most of our country have now developed the " I want it all and I want it now" attitude. This plays right into the hands of an ever growing government.

A volunteer fire dept. worked great in the community where I grew up. I like the idea of volunteer law enforcement in small towns and rural areas. I wouldn't be opposed to being properly trained and helping out in my community.
