  1. You really need to get the sharing idea out of your wife's head. You just don't know what everyone's situation will be in 5 or 10 years form now. I can tell you story after story of seeing this sort of thing becoming screwed up beyond belief, ruining relationships and even lives.   I get along great with my in laws, and they are good people. Still, I refuse to do business with them. This keeps our relationship good.   Don't get in a hurry, and you'll find something that suits your wants and needs. I looked for several years before I found the place I wanted. I'm glad I was patient.
  2. If I haven't forgotten anything, and I probably have, The remaining parts for my build should be in route.   I stopped by the Armory, the Lebanon Gun Shop, and the Shooting Range, all in Lebanon today.   In The Armory, I was the only customer in the store, browsed around for a while, and was never acknowledged.   At the Shooting Range, I was helped, and bought a few things, but they didn't have a big selection.   At The Lebanon Gun Shop, as always, I was treated very well, and really learned a lot from the very patient guy behind the counter. I bought everything I needed that they had in stock for this build. His help will be invaluable.   Alas, I ordered a barrel, stock, and handguard from Primary Arms.   I may work on my lower this weekend as the weather doesn't look promising for hunting.   I'm gonna have a friggin fortune in this thing! :stunned:
  3. Sir, you likely handled it better than I would have. I'm glad you found her.
  4. That's what I wanted to hear. They have a barrel and stock I want for sure.
  5. It seems they have a large selection, fair prices, and good percentage of items in stock.   It would be nice to get most of the items I want in one shipment. I know I can hunt around and save a few bucks, but I'm not sure I'm up to the hassle factor.   Any other one stop shops you'd recommend?   Brownells is pricey, and Midway and Palmetto State are out of stock on most anything I'd want.
  6. Then you are on your own there my friend.   I like the Triune area, as well as Chapel Hill. I expect property values in either place to explode shortly, if they haven't done so already. Make sure the place you buy will not flood, and make sure it will perk for a septic system if applicable.
  7. You need to check in each deer.
  8. You're ahead of me. I have the receiver set and I'm still not sure exactly what I'm going to do with them.
  9. I picked up my upper, lower, and BCG this evening. Looks great, and exactly what I ordered. Thanks guys!
  10. Very nice and professional people at D&T Arms. Thanks guys.
  11. Being near them is great. Joining properties might even be tolerable under perfect circumstances. I assure you that you don't want your name on a property deed with anyone in your family, or your wife's family, with the exception of her.   You obviously haven't been married long. I'm trying to save you a whole lot of future headache here.   You will NOT get along with family or especially in laws if you have financial dealings together.
  12. ....at least I hope it ended well. She was found; is everything o.k.?
  13. Bad idea! Buying land and building your house is a great idea. Including your brother in law in the deal; BAD IDEA!!!
  14. You'll need to point that rifle up when turning around in the woods. :stunned:
  15. The deer have to be somewhere. Hot and windy aren't my personal preferences for hunting, but you certainly won't get one if you don't go. I'd look for a cedar thicket to watch, or perhaps do a bit of stalking/hunting if I were going.
  16. Wow! My heart sank when I read this. As others have said, you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. We're here if you need anything.
  17. No, and no. I guess the first no has a lot to do with the second no.   I can't stay warm in the wind, and what little I've hunted in it proved unproductive.   You can't hear anything, it is uncomfortable, and the few deer I've seen in the wind were very wary; more so than usual.
  18. Which ever on sounds cool to you. They'll both work well.
  19. How 'bout that! I lucked into buying the right one! Thanks for the heads up.
  20. I like that waaaaaaay better than what you traded for it!
  21. I hope you guys at D&T Arms had the forethought to stock a bunch of accessories, build kits, barrels, Furniture, etc.
  22. Thanks for letting us know. I'll try to swing by in a day or two.
  23. I may have spent more than you guys did.
  24. Man, they ship fast too! Also included in my order was a free Bravo Company "Combat Effective" mouse pad.
