  1. I'm probably going to hurt some feelings here, but I'm going to be honest with you. With a $500-700 budget, you'd be much more pleased with a pump.   It just takes more labor than that price would allow to properly put together a shotgun with two barrels.
  2. So what, exactly, did Cruz accomplish with this lengthy speech?
  3. Thanks for sharing. I like Savages.
  4. A chainsaw file is a round metal file.
  5. Any store with a hardware section will have them. I'm certain Lowe's does. Did you look near the chain saws?   http://www.lowes.com/SearchCatalogDisplay?ipTrail=173.240.135.3&newSearch=true&catalogId=10051&selectedLocalStoreBeanArray=%5Bcom.lowes.commerce.storelocator.beans.LocatorStoreBean%4049324932%5D&storeNumber=0548&Ntt=chainsaw+file&N=0&URL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lowes.com%2FSearchCatalogDisplay%3FstoreId%3D10151%26langId%3D-1%26catalogId%3D10051%26N%3D0%26newSearch%3Dtrue%26Ntt%3Dchainsaw%2Bfile%23%21&langId=-1&storeId=10151#!
  6. I can't imagine being satisfied with 4" groups from any rifle. :shake: I have a cut down Spanish mauser that'll beat that, and I only have $30 in the gun!
  7. I'm certainly no legal scholar, but I'd feel better about you or your friend carrying a gun while drinking than driving home after drinking.
  8. Cut it out with a chainsaw file. Take your time. File a bit, and check. Repeat.
  9. ....and these are the folks educating our children. :shake:
  10. I've fired mine after being loaded for a year, and probably for two-three years with no problem. Sometimes you need to remove the nipple and put a bit of powder in the hole and reinstall the nipple before you can get it to fire.   Unless I suspected he loaded it with smokeless powder, I'd probably shoot it. If I wasn't comfortable with that, I'd pull the bullet. If you don't have a bullet puller, you should buy one assuming you are going to keep the muzzleloader. You'll need it sooner or later.
  11. The price was what surprised me. My wife commented that they must have named the store in honor of the guy working the gun counter.
  12. Looks great. I wish I would have bought a Carl Gustav back when they were cheap and plentiful. They are high quality, accurate rifles.
  13. Sorry, I'm a bit slow at times.
  14. Squirrel man?
  15. I don't usually go there, but yesterday we were out and about when my wife and kids decided we needed to stop a Dick's for some reason. My oldest son and I wandered back to the gun cabinet, and as he's outgrown his 870 Remington youth model, we were looking at shotguns. I had the sales clerk show us both a 20 and 12 gauge 870 pump with adult size stocks.   I wasn't planning to buy one that day, but I noticed a sale sign that said "$269", and I thought that seemed pretty cheap. Then I noticed another sign that said "$20 off all guns between $199-$499". Hey, that's $249! It'll be hard to beat that price.   Just then, another customer who was buying an 870 as well asked me if I knew about the Remington $30 rebate on them. Man, that's $219!!!!   I bought a 20 gauge for my son, and sort of regret now I didn't buy a 12 for myself. Sometimes a blind squirrel finds a nut.
  16. I'm guessing it'll bring $350-$400. You will not believe how accurate a pre model 10 is! There is a reason they are so common; they are just about the perfect revolver.
  17. Can you get a pipe wrench on it?
  18. Should the same rule apply to politicians, lawyers, government employees, welfare recipients, car dealers, media, etc.? If not, why not?
  19. Really! My sons and I needed to drop in to WalMart late one night a while back. We decided it looked like a scene from a Mad Max movie in there! :ugh:
  20. You are my heroes.
  21. Concealed works great. That's the best advice I can give you.
  22. I've NEVER had a good Wal Mart experience.   I'm pretty sure a guy could walk around our local Wal Mart with a rocket launcher strapped to his back and go unnoticed for hours.
  23. ...and if everyone who says "a vote for a third party candidate is a wasted vote" would vote for them, they'd win in a landslide.
  24. I did precisely that the last time Corker ran for reelection. I remember everyone here telling me what an idiot I was for doing it.
  25. I read the damned thing. To tell the truth, I didn't understand a lot of it, and sure didn't see anything I could construe as positive in it.   It's been a while, and I didn't memorize it, nor do I care to read it again, so I am not equipped to argue specifics with you.
