  1. Cavuto for president! :usa:
  2. Hope it didn't bite you!
  3. I bought a Williams Foolproof aperture rear sight for mine, and left the factory front sight in place. This works well for me.   I do not care for fiber optic sights, and certainly not on a classic lever gun.
  4. I regularly carry an LCP. I prefer to carry FMJ ammo in it, They are great guns for their intended purpose.
  5. You are entitled to your opinion. It isn't against the law to come to my table at a restaurant and fart while I'm eating, but it wouldn't be the prudent thing to do either.   Eric, I don't think you are old enough to remember when parents actually taught children manners, etiquette, right and wrong, and a basic respect for their fellow humans. Most things didn't need to be illegal for us to know we shouldn't do them. Sadly, it appears that time has passed.
  6. Works good for plinking loads, but 2400 or 296/110 for ear splitting, hand cramping full house magnum loads.   I like Bullseye for very light loads in 44 mag as well.
  7. WTF? I thought he was on the Obama cheering squad.
  8. H110/W296 and 2400 are the standard bearers for magnum revolver loads.
  9. It happens. Don't beat yourself up over it. Learn from it, and thanks for sharing so we might learn from it as well.
  10. I had no idea it was illegal to carry a long gun. Where would one find the exception in the law for hunting?
  11. I hope they are just waiting until the last minute to order. That just sucks if not. Heck, I just had to put a $1500 set of heads on my truck, but I said I'd buy one, and doggone it, I'm buying one!
  12. I-65 south of Nashville is literally paved with them.
  13. Fill it with ice and beer and have the greatest block party in the history of the world!
  14.                                     http://www.diamonddcustomleather.com/Chest_Holsters.php   Something like this?   An Anaconda isn't a rare firearm, so a lot of custom holster makers will still make holsters for them. You probably aren't going to find one at your local sporting goods store, however. You could try one made for a 6" Smith and Wesson N frame. I expect they are very close in size.   A quality custom made leather holster will cost you, but if you carry it much, it'll be worth every penny.
  15. I subscribe to this theory as well. If the seller is happy with the price, then congratulations. Those are definitely four classic, high quality, tack driving rimfires.
  16. Somebody got hosed big time. There's close to $400 worth of sights on those rifles. :stunned:   Very nice collection.
  17. Do you reload?   My boys started shooting 38 special and even 44 Magnum target loads at about age 5. They love it. My little one is 10, and two years ago he was cutting bullet holes at 10 yards with a model 52 Smith and Wesson.   Still, you could always use him as an excuse to buy a quality 22 target revolver like a model 17 Smith and Wesson,  or semi such as a Browning Challenger or a Colt Woodsman.
  18. That's what mine does.
  19. A different magazine would be a good place to start. If that isn't it, the S&W semis will chip a piece off the extractor every now and again.
  20. If it has affected me, I didn't know it.
  21. I have never personally killed a deer personally with one, but I would have no fear at all in taking a Tennessee whitetail with any of the calibers you've mentioned.   A center chest shot with a properly constructed bullet in a 223/556 would most assuredly take any whitetail Tennessee has to offer with boring regularity. Deer just aren't that tough, and 200 yards isn't an outrageous distance with a good rest, an accurate rifle, and a competent shooter.   This does require a bit of patience and restraint. It is the iffy shots that sometimes require a larger, tougher bullet.   Now that you mention it, I may have to prove my theory afield before too long.
  22. Good question. Mine is headed to D&T arms. I assumed they'd know what to do, but your question makes me wonder as well. Maybe they'll pick up on this thread and let us know how they'd prefer to handle it.
  23. That's about what I've seen lately as well. Diamond magnas are quite a bit more expensive, and the old coke bottle profile grips bring $500 and up.
  24. I've been piling up ammo for 10 years or more. My wife thought I was nuts, but we had th extra cash, and I didn't see ammo getting any cheaper. For once, I was right! Wal Mart was selling 550 Federal boxes of 22lr for $7.97 when I started. We quit buying them when they passed $9.97.   I'm no smarter than anyone else, but did benefit from good timing.   I will tell you that I still don't see ammo getting any cheaper long term. Same goes for food and other staples.   The strength of the American dollar is far behind us I'm sad to say.
  25. I believe I would like to build mine with an A2 stock, triangle fore end, 20"barrel, and removable carry handle. Any leads on a good deal on these parts or other suggestions would be appreciated.
