  1. I wonder if I could get CMT to build a complete upper with my TGO upper receiver and BCG.   That would be cool!
  2. That's a helluva thing for a law enforcement officer to say.
  3. That's the allure to me.
  4. There's a magnum Interarms action on 24hourcampfire.com in the classifieds for sale right now at $325. They make a great Mauser action.
  5. I sure hope your wrong, but I fear you are right on target. Isn't his contract up next year?
  6. You'd need to open up the bolt face, and probably do some alteration to the magazine as well, unless you get a commercial magnum Mauser action. It can be done with a military rifle, but requires some extra work. I once had a 375 Holland and Holland Sako That had a standard large ring Mauser action. It had a notch milled out of the front receiver ring in order to accommodate the longer cases.   A 30-06, or even better, a 35 Whelen would only require a rebarrel, as the bolt and action will readily accept these cases.
  7. Good stuff!
  8. I went with the new Accord.
  9. I'm not against buying one with a rebuilt title, but will not pay a clean title price for it.
  10. Several years back, my wife and I were at a Honda dealership looking at Accords. We wanted one 2-3 years old. He had several, and gave us a price. Out of curiosity, I asked what a similarly equipped new one sold for......guess what? SAME PRICE!!!! I asked how that was, and he said people came there looking for late model used ones and never priced a new one. He told me they sold 2 or 3 used ones for every new one they sold.
  11. I can go anywhere with my Summit Goliath stand strapped to my back that I can go without it. It is secure, and as comfortable as my easy chair. If something happens to it, I'll definitely buy another one.
  12. Most any jacketed soft nose or hollow point ammo should work satisfactorily. If you're hunting with a lever rifle, I's suggest a Williams foolproof receiver sight in lieu of a scope. The lever action rifles are so much handier without a scope.
  13. Watch some youtube videos, print an exploded view of the action parts, buy yourself a good gunsmith screwdriver set, and do it yourself.   They aren't very complicated once you know what to expect when you pull the side plate. That, and you should really understand how your gun operates. It'll help you be a better shooter.
  14. Although you can now legally hunt black bear with your 25acp Colt Jr., it doesn't make it a good idea.
  15. As far as I know, you have to save the photo in an online service like photobucket. Then you copy the img code and paste it in your post.
  16. Vertical foregrip for an AR comes to my mind first as well.
  17. Let's all get together and tear into it. :D
  18. Where did you find a caliber restriction? I saw a 36 caliber minimum for muzzleloaders for big game, and a 25 caliber maximum for rimfires and airguns for small game.
  19. It was a 4" minimum. It appears they've dropped that requirement; at least I can't find it.
  20. I'd just trade it for a Mosin.
  21. I think a claw extractor would hold a round in place sufficiently to detonate a primer if the entire barrel was missing.
  22. Yeah, I'm still not convinced it's a headspace problem. Could be, but I'm not sure with the information provided. A bad box of ammo isn't exactly rare.
  23. Now there's an interesting rifle. You really need to post pictures.
  24. I'm not sure I understand how it'll chamber, but not extract a loaded case. With excessive headspace, I would expect a backed out primer in the fired case.
  25. Right. There are some folks out there who'd love to buy it for parts or for a project, however.
