1. I've got a Bushmaster. I'm no expert, but it seems to be a good rifle. That doesn't sound too bad with the ammo and all, but AR prices have dropped drastically, in the past few months. It sounds like a great selection for a Christmas gift.
2. You got it!!!   Keep us posted as to his condition.
3. ...and stake it and weld it and..... :stunned:
4. I found mine to be easier to put together than most of the crap my wife buys the kids for Christmas.   I know very little about AR stuff, but these receivers seem to be of very good quality. I know I'm happy with mine. Thanks Cross Machine  Tool! :usa:   I like having things that were manufactured here in Tennessee.
5. Were I to use one, I'd try to use as heavy a hunting bullet as I could get by with, so that negates the over stabilizing. A bullet that is keyholing will not be accurate; at least that's been my experience. They are designed to work correctly head on; not sideways.
6. If the bullets you shoot don't go into the target sideways at hunting distances, and will shoot in an acceptable group. I wouldn't give much thought to twist rate.
7. I think you have to buy a Glock, and then it will go away.
8. You guys came through for me again! Firefox solved the problem. Just click "download", and begin to browse worry free. Thanks.
9. Y'all wanna share that story with those of us who have short memories?
10. I think everyone understands. Don't beat yourself up.
11. I doubt you took anything away from anyone here.
12. Me too!
13. GI mags should work fine in your M1.
14. We definitely have some top shelf vendors here. I've dealt with several, and all have been first class all the way.
15. Right. These are made just for an AR.
16. My first thought was to cut them in half. :screwy:   Nice gesture giving them away to a member!
17. Thanks for the help guys. I think I'm going to try the 2 piece Nikon P series mounts. They look good, are light, and priced right. I do think I may later wish for the quick detach system or the Burris, however.
18. I like the idea of the quick disconnect system, but have read some bad reports of them coming loose unexpectedly. Would I be better off with the conventional bolt on model? Also, would this provide plenty of clearance for fold down back up sights?   Do you have any other good options? Regular rings don't seem to position the scope correctly, and are too low for my fold down sights.   Thanks a lot in advance for your guidance.
19.                        http://www.strikehardgear.com/   I'll be damned! I thought that was a spoof, but it's actually a real webiste.
20. That wouldn't be cool??!!?? :ugh:
21. I've yet to find a round of ammunition that didn't perform satisfactorily in my AKM or SKS, and I've shot several variations of milsurp as well as Russian commercial, Chinese commercial, and American commercial ammo.   As Garufa stated, some foreign ammo is corrosive. I'd treat it all as if it were.
22. No pictures of the brass or bullets. I don't believe it is the mags, because it doesn't happen with the same mags in my Bushmaster. Today I used one Bushmaster mag, and one of the cheapo mags on sale at Midway.
23. Five bucks a box for steel Russian ammo is as good as it'll ever be. Buy it cheap, and stack it deep!
24. Mine shot great, and to the point of impact with the cheesy back up sights I put on it. I haven't mounted a scope yet. Not sure which way to go there.   The only glitch I see is my feed ramps are either very sharp or burred, as my brass and bullets are scuffed by them.
25. So it was just done for the sake of cheap brass?   Was commercial ammo ever available in 8mm-06?
