  1. O.k. I'll bite since no one else will........Why the hell do you have a pet rat? :ugh:   Oh yeah....welcome to the forum.
  2. So you're looking for second best?
  3. I'm quite happy to be labeled an "extremist". There aren't a lot of things I believe passionately in, but for those things in which I do, I will not bend or compromise. In today's world, sadly, that IS extreme.
  4. I would say to just go with your personal preference, assume your budget doesn't allow for both.   Who knows what the future holds? Life is a crapshoot.
  5. Once the head is off, there is no more pressure on the screw, and it'll usually come out with just hand pressure, assuming it hasn't been cross threaded or corroded.   Japanese screw heads are different, as stated above, and typically about as hard as lead. If you've ever worked on a Japanese motorcycle, you likely have a large vocabulary of four letter words.
  6. The sound of gunfire is as common around here as the smell of honeysuckle. We are a different world than Maryland.
  7. The DMV will test your patience, but isn't as bad as it once was.   Locally, I find it better to go around lunchtime, as it isn't as busy as earlier in the morning. I haven't tried late afternoon.
  8. If you aren't in the city limits; bang away!
  9. My Rossi, aside from the kindergarten/bb gun sights, is great. Mine has no safety, action is slick, trigger is good, and i can consistently ring an 6" gong at 100 yards with it offhand. 10. Unless it is used for commercial purposes, you are correct.
  11. Let us know what you learn about it. I am intrigued by the Spanish revolvers.
  12. Smith and Wesson N frame revolver. Why not?

He's a classic. He should own about 50% of Smith and Wesson. He's sold nearly as many guns for them as Obama.
  14. Clean it and shoot it!   It isn't in collector condition, but is a quality double shotgun.   Early Lefever guns command a fortune. Later, Ithaca purchased the Lafever name and produced shotguns under both the Ithaca brand as well as the Lefever brand.   Although Ithaca is known for quality guns, and some Ithacas are quite pricey, the Ithaca made Lefevers aren't terribly expensive.   You got a real bargain there!
  15.                 http://forums.gunboards.com/forumdisplay.php?40-The-Spanish-Pistol-Board   If these guys don't know, it probably ain't known.   Please don't think I was belittling your revolver in my earlier post. It is special in that it is a family heirloom. I was trying to give as accurate an answer to your question as I could. My wife says I should work on my tact a bit. She's probably right.....ah hell, she's always right. :)
  16. Welcome to the forum.   To post a picture, you need to save the photos on an online photo sharing/storing site like flikr or photobucket. Then you can copy and paste the url code in your post.   Several Spanish companies made scads of poor to mediocre quality copies of Smith and Wesson and Colt revolvers. I'm not sure how much these have been studied, but I don't know of a good source of information on them.
  17. Good prices all around, and an easy to use website. Thank for the link.
  18. I have an L3250. The darn thing is bullet proof! You have a good tractor in my opinion.
  19. Fun thread. I hate I missed it the first go 'round.   Welcome to Tennessee.
  20. There were a few boxes of various 22 ammo at Academy Sports on Saturday. That was the first 22 ammo I've seen on a store shelf since this cr@p started.
  21. Welcome to the forum.   You do see he has been banned form this forum?
  22. I'll put it this way. If I owned a business, restaurant or other, and these two fools walked it, I would not so politely escort them to the door immediately. What gives you any indication that two people who look like that wouldn't fire those rifles, negligent or otherwise?
  23. Me too. What do you do about jerks like this?
  24. The frame window was lengthened to accommodate the longer cylinder. I wasn't aware any other changes were made.   I do agree that the old wadcutters are hard to beat for a 38 Special.   It was found that the J frames were actually better able to handle 357 pressures than the K frames. Model 19s were prone to cracking in the forcing cone when fired with lightweight, high speed bullets. I am not aware of that problem in a J frame.
  25. This!^   Smith and Wesson marketed 38 Special ammo in the 70's, with their company name on it,  that is waaaaaaaaay hotter than anything available today with the +p designation.
