  1. I never got on the Thompson Contender bandwagon either. Probably for many of the same reasons.
  2. Thanks for all the answers.
  3. The old Lee hand primers were awesome. The new ones not so much. Watch ebay, and you can still find an old model.
  4. Wow! It sounds like you either need to move, or else seek help from a competent mental health professional. I don't have enough information to say which is the case.
  5. I have seen an explosion of these things lately. I see no legitimate use for them. I'm not promoting the banning of them or anything like that. I expect this thread will ruffle a few feathers, but I'm hoping someone can enlighten me as to why they are desirable.
  6. I have two children and a wife. I also don't live in Nashville.
  7. I can see a determined thief defeating the lock on the case, stealing the case, and leaving the pistol.
  8. I would have likely offered the man something to drink.
  9. You'd think Lebanon, with the help of an able promoter, could support a great gunshow. So far, however, the Lebanon shows I've attended blow like a category 5 tornado. I'm not going to another one until I hear different.
  10. Wow! I guess I'm glad I don't have some of you guys as neighbors. It isn't uncommon here to have someone walk across our property. Someone looking for ginseng, a neighbor checking his fence, looking for a horse that got out, a lost coon dog, or just out for a leisurely stroll.   Something may happen one day to change my mind, but methinks someone is overreacting.
  11. Primers are primers.   I agree with the others. Spend a few more bucks and get the Classic Cast press.   You won't save a lot of money with common calibers like 223, but you'll really clean up with the savings reloading the 300 Mag.
  12. This is a course I'm NOT interested in.                       https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rI01qKAqYts&feature=youtu.be
  13. Believe it or not, yes. I do not recall anything special about a break in period. I guess I should have read it closer. The last one was a 2011 Honda Accord. It's at 50,000 miles now. I've done nothing but scheduled maintenance to it, and it's been problem free thus far.
  14. Mine is a Savage 99 R in 300 Savage. I like 99 Savages.
  15. No car or gun I've owned required a break in period.
  16. Full choke. High brass #6 shot. Just like it doesn't take an elephant gun to kill a whitetail, there's no magic in taking down a bird.   A lot of guys sitting around a gun store are simply full of feces when it comes to tales of their shooting prowess.
  17. You'd think this was on the horizon based on current as well as recent events, but I've heard little mention of new companies, or existing companies expanding. There is definitely money to be made in the ammunition industry.
  18. It DOES burn the eyes. That isn't second hand knowledge.
  19. I expect that'll be a long line.
  20. I consider a quarter a pop a fair price for 7.62x39. Anything cheaper than that needs to be bought.
  21.                                       http://ammunitionstore.com/categories/rifle-ammunition/7-62x39.html $219.99 per k here, with a free AK magazine.
  22. I have several things sitting around that aren't running because of ethanol.   Not only are we screwing up small engines everywhere, we are also raising the cost of a necessary food staple for many third world countries.
  23. Whoever got the ball rolling to mandate ethanol to be added to gasoline should be drowned in the stuff.
  24. I'm a "both" kind of guy.
  25. ...and I'll stick with guns that don't come with plastic parts.
