"If Obama had a son, he would look like me."

Looks like a very interesting course, and you did an exceptional job taking us through it! He should hire you as a PR man. Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed this post.

What is the proper way to privately buy firearms?
gregintenn replied to bird333's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Short answer. You hand me the money, and I hand you the firearm. If I do not know you to be a felon, and the gun isn't stolen, and assuming we are both of legal age, we've pretty much covered the legal bases. -
Can't they just stop all the shooting and violence and show people some love like this guy did? http://news.msn.com/crime-justice/oklahoma-city-policeman-arrested-for-raping-women-while-on-patrol

Assuming he's guilty of legitimate charges, and it sounds like he probably is, you are correct. If you believe internet use and phone calls aren't saved, stored, and scanned in some way by the government, then I don't know how to convince you otherwise. I'm quite curious as to the motive behind this type behavior. It undoubtedly is used for legitimate crime prevention and prosecution, but could it not just as easily be used for less noble purposes?

Get the chip off your shoulder. Show me a post I've made saying anything negative about the officer in Missouri.
-
I do not believe he did, thankfully. Would you feel the same if you lived there and an errant bullet came through your bedroom window? I'll have to say I don't care for your tone lately. Not only toward me, but toward other posters who might have an opinion that happens to differ from yours. I don't need to be a professional gunfighter to prefer not to have stray bullets flying about from anyone's gun.

Me either! I just got a new flip phone at the Verizon store in Gallatin about a month ago. It wasn't on display, but I asked for one, and the salesman got one from the back. It was $40 with no contract! It works great. I only have to charge it once weekly.

I'll have to take exception with this remark. When I fire a gun, I own the bullet leaving the barrel in perpetuity. I see no reason why a badge would relieve one from this responsibility. Winded, wounded, etc., he still fired; he's responsible for what gets hit.

We currently have a thread in the loung about making homemade explosives. Surely most of us are on one or more watchlists. Do you all see this sort of thing happening to some of us in the future?

No, but it does sound interesting. I assume it's a 7.62x25 necked down to 6.5 cal?

How I Dislodged a Stuck Bullet
gregintenn replied to Clod Stomper's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
A wooden dowel or muzzleloader ramrod; (size depending on caliber) and a hammer usually works for me. For lead bullets, I have a bullet puller that screws into my muzzleloader ramrod. It is nothing more than the shank of a wood screw, with the other end threaded to screw into the head of the ramrod. -
Is that the gun that fires ear plugs?

My kid had to produce more information to play in the Little League All Star Tournament this year than if he were applying for a mortgage. 3 proofs of residence, a school report card, etc. It would take some serious doing to have an ineligible kid slip through the process. I do enjoy the Little League games more than pro ball. Those kids give it all they've got. My oldest son's Senior League team made it to the state playoffs last year. That's as close as we've come to the world series. I did go watch my niece play in a softball world series in Gadsden Alabama several years back.

Understood. I've never priced shopped them, mainly because they are the only game in town if you want service a lot of places I go.

That was what; a $3000 rifle a year or two back? :shake: :shhh:

What you could do is to cut a piece of masking tape the size of the head of a round of ammunition, and stick it over the primer. See if the bolt will fully close with the round chambered. If it will, add another piece of tape and try it again. It probably shouldn't close on more than about three pieces of tape applied. This isn't scientific, but will give you a general idea of headspace on your rifle. I don't normally check the headspace on a rifle unless I have some reason to be suspect of it.

If you read the law closely, you'll find that it is now your duty to strap on a pistol and immediatly proceed to the nearest Wal Mart for your inaugural "WallyWorld Walk".

What's wrong with Verizon? I used them for years, and am quite happy with their service thus far.

Ferguson, MO, What would you do if this happened near you

What were they protesting in Murfreesboro? -
I'd bet that if you could hide the name brands on those three rifles, no AR snob would be able to tell one from the other just from handling and firing them.

Sissies!

Your local title company "operated by a lawyer" should be able to walk you through the process. They'll print a standard contract, run a title search, and have a plethora of paperwork for both of you to sign. Other than that, deciding whether the buyer, seller, or both pays for this will likely be your biggest worry.

I don't live around rioting/looting type people. -
I don't currently have a dedicated varmint rifle. The only one I ever had was a heavy barrel pre 64 Winchester in 220 Swift. If you can find one, and assuming it isn't out of your budget, I can highly recommend them.
