  1. I suppose I’ve been lucky. I have a pile of them. A factory Bushmaster, a S&W 22, and several I’ve put together with various parts and pieces of varying quality from bargain basement to top shelf. All will shoot half of this or better with no malfunctions. They are boringly reliable and accurate to a fault.
  2. Many of us here actually know each other. There are many good, trustworthy guys on this forum. You haven’t done anything this far to command that confidence we have in one another. I dealt with contractors my entire career. I am pretty good at sniffing out bullchit. To be perfectly honest, I’m not getting a good vibe from this thread.
  3. Sir. You may well have the best of intentions. Fact is, we just don’t know. You might try settling in here and getting to know us before spring a poll of unknown quantity or origination on us. Or not. It is up to you.
  4. Not sure that’s an ammo problem. Is the bullet still in the barrel?
  5. I wish I could articulate my thoughts as well as this.
  6. Interesting choice, but I don’t believe they make ‘em any longer. Finding a used one might be a chore, but I will keep an eye out.
  7. Unless someone stocks precisely what you want, I would suggest buying parts and assembling one yourself. Cheaper and better than buying something and then spending a small fortune swapping out parts to suit you. Anderson and Palmetto State make passable receivers. Many companies sell serviceable lower and upper parts kits. Put your money in a good barrel and good trigger. There really isn’t any magic in a quality AR.
  8. Is there a bad one?
  9. Nice collection! I'm a big fan of the N frame.
  10. Georgia/Ole Miss is proving to be a good game so far. *edit* I spoke too soon.
  11. Lol! No sir. I barely got out of high school.
  12. T’was a beautiful game. Good news is ya’ll should be able to take all your frustrations out on Vandy.
  13. Vanderbilt football is a friggin train wreck!
  14. Macon County beats Red Bank 28-7. Go Tigers!!!
  15. What do YOU propose to do to solve the issue of “gun violence”?
  16. The average gun enthusiast wants .gov to adhere to the second amendment as it was written. “Shall not be infringed” is a pretty simple concept to understand. There should be NO restrictive gun laws. There should be NO BATFE. You don’t need a poll for that. Leave us alone as the constitution requires. There is NO room for compromise. None!!!
  17. Links2k posted an article a while back stating that the public school model was designed a century ago to prepare people for a life of factory work. Basically, sit down, shut up, and follow directions. That article had a lot of merit in my opinion. I am not in the education industry, and do not pretend to know the solution to this problem, but what we currently do isn’t working. Mind altering drugs damn sure isn’t the answer.
  18. This very thing happens all too often. “No child left behind.” A kid has energy. Deal with it. You can’t get a puppy to sit still all day, why do you think a kid should. Especially when they are bored out of their skull.
  19. With all due respect, you shouldn’t take my word as fact any more than what you see in the media. I’d prefer you see for yourself and have your own informed opinion. There really isn’t much there beyond incoherent ramblings, but I did not know that until I saw it.
  20. When I’m out in public looking over my shoulder. I’d like to have as good an idea as possible exactly what I’m looking for. Just like having fire extinguishers and a spare tire in the car, I like to be prepared as possible.
  21. Yes. We got a little glimpse into the mind of an evil, insane person. To cure this problem in the future, we need to learn what causes these events. I’d like to learn more.
  22. Oh man, I bet that’s fun!
  23. I never really understood why doe in heat scent is legal. Any guy knows that’s more irresistible than food!
  24. I hang deer up in the barn for skinning and deboning. Before the barn, I hung them from a tree limb. I put the meat in a large, industrial strength trash bag and chill in the freezer. From there, I do about all the butchering on the tailgate of my truck on a cutting board I made from a piece of 2x10 lumber. When I’m done, I spray it off with the garden hose. Easy peasy, and momma’s kitchen ain’t dirty. If the weather allows, I even run the dehydrator on the tailgate.
