  1. I didn't see anything unusual in Lafayette last night. The WalMart parking lot looked extra full, however. Turkey protesters I'm guessing.
  2. Ikea doesn't ship?
  3. I can just here some of the guys around here. "You mean we have to tote a LOG around when we're deer huntin'? Won't that get heavy??!!?"
  4. I wasn't aware of a log. I thought that was the purpose of checking in the deer.
  5. It gives me an idea for my wife's Christmas present!
  6. Better than the Chiappa Rhino.......but not by a lot.
  7. They are drop in parts. No different than taking them out to clean the barrel and putting them back in.   I've been accustomed to working on Mauser rifles, revolvers, and 1911's, so I was astounded at how easy the AR is to tinker with. They're sort of like Legos.
  8. If you build an AR, BUY THEM!   This helpful hint brought to you by the resident TGO tightazz, gregintenn.
  9. I'll bet she was about as impressed as you were if the truth were told.
  10. $49 12 gauge pump? Really??!!!??? :panic:
  11. I don't recall loud rap music at Vanderbilt games. I haven't been this year, however. I don't imagine you could hear it over the wailing and gnashing of teeth.
  12. I just built an AR with this upper:                    http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/ar-15-upper-clearance/psa-m4-16-cmv-cl-stripped-upper-with-bcg-and-charging-handle-1.html   The rest of the parts came from Anderson Arms, except for the carry handle. It came from ebay.   I've got just north of $500 in it, and could not be more pleased.
  13. A finer deer rifle has never been built!   :usa:
  14. I'd keep an eye out for a used Ithaca model 37.
  15. My heat pump has "emergency heat" on it, but I've yet to see it come on. I assume it is to keep you from freezing until the repairman gets there?
  16. If the ammo feeds reliably and groups well, I'd not give it a second thought. I expect the variance is a bullet issue and not a die/press issue.
  17. Sometime chit happens, but I've killed a LOT of deer with a 295 grain Powerbelt. Sometimes they don't really act like they've been hit, but I've yet to lose one.   My father killed the largest Tennessee whitetail I've ever seen this year with a 45 cal Powerbelt. It was dead right there.
  18. That's actually a damned good photo in my estimation. It would make a nice Christmas card.
  19. Nice case. I thought they were generally carried in a Crown Royal bag.
  20. I can't see the magazine being curved, unless somehow it's flexible.
  21. I'ts "being prepared" if I do it. It's hoarding if someone else does it.
  22. Mine's in the basement. It never needs heating or cooling.
  23. Not me. I'd keep the Star.
  24. DO you have a good pinned and recessed Smith and Wesson revolver?
  25. Just what I was thinking. I believe I was still a kid the last time I got pulled over.   I probably wouldn't bother announcing I have a gun or carry permit.   I have met an officer or two who were adamant about making sure I knew THEY had a gun.   *edit* I have been through a few roadblocks in the last several years. I'm not sure if that is counted as a traffic stop or not. Nothing ever mentioned about an HCP.
