    HH GREGG

I've never had a problem with HH Greg. I've bought from them more than once, but not exclusively. I'd prefer to find a salesperson when I need one than to have one follow me around the store.
  2. Get as long a barrel as you don't mind carrying. They aren't more accurate per se, but will give higher velocities, and the longer sight radius is an aid to better aiming, which will help the shooter attain better accuracy if using factory sights, Mine is a 4-5/8", but it gets carried more than shot.   Bottom line: shorter barrel=easier carrying, longer barrel=more feet per second and a longer sight radius.
  3. I always thought that would make a neat rifle round. This is getting close.   You think all  the parts to make an ar in 7.62x25 are commercially available, or does that have a lot of custom one off parts?   I guess a 9mm bolt would work?          http://www.cncgunsparts.com/ar-15_m-16_762x25_uppers I'm always a day late and a dollar short.
  4. Who's selling Blackhawks for over a grand?
  5. "Christmas Vacation" With Chevy Chase is my go to holiday movie.
  6. You just rolled out of bed last night and discovered 22 ammo is hard to find? No chit??!!?? :squint:  I hope you don't have a 22 magnuim; you'll drive yourself crazy finding ammo for it.
  7. If we still had tags to punch, you could do that with the bayonet as well. Heck, it might be the PERFECT deer rifle.
  8. All joking aside, that's a damned good quality picture!
  9. Yeah.......but Gibson makes guitars. :ugh:
  10. Nope. Everything I've got from the has come at lightning speed, well packed, and 100% correct.
  11. At least he didn't post the "money shot".
  12. Unless you have the knowledge and machinery to index and headspace a barrel, you will likely need to employ someone else to install it for you. I expect you can either buy a barrel for most any action suitable for a 22 hornet. If not, you other option would be to buy .223 rifled blank, and have a gunsmith finish it, assuming you aren't able to do it yourself.   There are several choices for donor rifles to get the action. I don't know your budget, but I'm not expecting this to be an inexpensive project.   https://savagearms.zendesk.com/entries/23574706-Does-Savage-have-a-custom-shop- I would suggest you contact Savage arms and see if they'd make you a barreled action to your specs.
  13. You can't top that! Congratulations.
  14. For many reasons, I do not believe that selling junk is a good long term business model.
  15. I've even put a couple in sideways. Now that takes some doing.
  16. I've done it, but catch it before inserting powder and primer. If a company makes millions of something, there are bound to be a problem or three.
  17. My wife only thought I have a lot of guns. I need to show her this report.
  18. The LCR is ugly! The K frame Smith and Wesson doesn't suffer this malady.     Full power 357 loads in a K frame are a handful. I prefer a 27 or 28 for shooting, but a 19 sure carries a lot better.
  19. My wife and I visited the Cragfont and the Wynnewood estates today, and it brought to mind a local legend I doubt many have heard of.          http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&ved=0CCsQFjAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.awritesmart.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2012%2F10%2FBigfootSpencer.pdf&ei=79iEVLDENsOkgwS18YLoBQ&usg=AFQjCNGFDfDBj4INIv0gldoQBxzPIOgZrw&bvm=bv.80642063,d.eXY
  20. You must have a lot of free time on your hands. :shake:
  21. Well said. It's kind of like an extended family here.
  22. We're here for you Dave!

    AR lowers

If you want to go cheap, there's nothing wrong with Anderson lowers. They are made in Kentucky.   If you want top of the line, click on the cmttac.com  advertisement at the top of the forum page. They're made here in Tennessee, and are top shelf.
  24. That sucks, and he'd have done well to have handled it better. However, you had a non working gun when you walked in, and a working gun when you left. You also received an education. It really isn't as bad as it seems.   I once buggered the knurling on an ejector rod; not knowing it was left hand threaded. My lesson cost me as did yours.
  25. If you follow a jerk like that, trouble will surely not be far behind you. I'd never heard of him and wish I could still say the same.
