  1. I think I prefer mice.
  2. No......you have A rock. It runs from south of Murfreesboro, north to the Trousdale county line.
  3. I understand.   Unless I was pretty sure it was a scam, I'd gladly give the money and be glad to have my dog back.   Sometimes even people with good intentions make bad decisions. You'll likely be happier in the long run if you stick with that theory.
  4. Two years has historically been the ceiling I've found. You can still eat it after that, but the quality of the meat is degraded.
  5. It's legal, but you are a good man for trying to be considerate of your neighbors. Life isn't fun living near pizzed off neighbors. Likely, they'll be considerate of you in return.   Probably your biggest concern will be ricochet, since Wilson county is one solid rock.
  6. Humans are getting dumber, aren't they?   What's the difference in this and a cat killing a mouse?
  7. Chapel Hill always seemed like a nice place to me.
  8. You might give the local sheriff's office where this place is located a call and feel them out as to whether they know much about the place. If there's a government employed dog catcher in the locality of the place, he might have some insight on them as well.   How much is the fee?   If it wasn't unreasonable, and I didn't otherwise smell a rat, I'd probably just pay it and get my dog back.   My dog doesn't wear a nametag, but he's somewhat a celebrity around here. I think more people know him than me.
  9. Geez!  I'll put you in a real one for less money.
  10. Model 1879?   I don't think there's a lot of them.
  11. This is the message I've been trying to convey for years. I don't see a problem with the article.  Stay out! :D
  12. Local gunshow......circa 2006.
  13. Oh no! I just bought three lowers, and each of them would eventually need one.
  14. I can tell you where to get a great trigger kit for an AR15. :D
  15. Well crap! Care to tell me what the price was?
  16. Ifyou can run across one at a decent price, (prices are climbing rapidly) I would recommend a model 28 Smith and Wesson Highway Patrolman for a first revlover range gun. If you have a bigger budget and want a shinier one, hold out for a model 27. The N frame pistols are much easier to shoot welll than a J or K frame magnum. I've never had an L frame, but I suspect they'd work well too.
  17. It is a smaller store, but there's a lot of stuff in there. Ther store is nice, well laid out, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.
  18. I bought a case of the Wolf recently as well. At that price, I just can't justify reloading it. I wish 223/556 would get back down to that threshold. I'm still loading it.
  19. I'm not getting benchrest accuracy from Wolf ammo, but I've found it reasonably accurate and haven't seen any keyholes. For .25 per round or less, I just live with it.
  20. China made the best AK ammo. It's a shame it isn't still available. I don't think you'll be able to get the cheap Russian stuff much longer either. Surely someone will pick up the slack, and make some cheap stuff. I'm with Gordon; how much more could it cost to make it with the correct bullet diameter?   What diameter bullets do American manufacturers such as Winchester, Remington, Hornady, etc. use? They sure charge plenty for it, if you can actually find it.
  21. I'll have to disagree with this. Some of the best dogs I've had were nothing more than mutts.     However you decide to go about it, please remember these two things:   1) Buying a dog is like having a child. Getting him home is just the beginning of the financial obligation a dog requires.   2) Puppies chew stuff up! Live with it. They'll grow out of it sooner or later.
  22.             http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=444870910           http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=444870910           http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=443445133 Wow! It ain't a dime a pop anymore, huh? :stare: I didn't realize it was that high now.
  23. I'm a clippers guy. I once shaved my head, and it stuck to my pillow like velcro. I didn't like that.
  24. A German Shepherd would be a fine choice. So would a Labrador Retriever. I would recommend a female. Males are usually good with children as well, but a female seems to have that motherly instict to take care of them.   I see no need to have an intelligent dog formally trained. Spend time with it, and it'll try to do what it thinks will please you. It'll likely train you a bit as well.   We have a Lab. He is part of the family. I'm on my on if trouble strikes, but although he's gentle as a lamb, I have no doubt he'd do everything possible to protect my wife and kids.
