  1. Please explain. I always thought that lots of times, a compressed load took full advantage of the space in the cartridge, and denoted a satisfactory powder for a given bullet/cartridge combo.   Anyway, how 'bout the m855 loads? You got any suggestions?
  2. I like Jeff Daniels, but Jim Carey just ruins any movie for me.
  3. Where could a fellow find load data for ss109 projectiles? I mainly have IMR powders on hand. Also have a jug of W748.
  4. Remington, Colt, and pretty much every gun manufacturer in the northeast, except for Henry for some reason, appears as if they will shortly be facing hard times if not already. I don't expect Colt to make it through this decade.
  5. They'll not get cheaper.
  6. It is actually an Umerex with Colt stamped on it. Sort of like all the made in China Winchester stuff at WalMart.   I'm not trying to discourage you. As I said, my son's rifle shoots great and is reliable. I just want you to know what you are getting into ahead of time. I didn't.
  7. My son has one. It is problem free and great fun to shoot. The barrel is actually a thin liner covered by a shroud that looks like an m4 barrel. The forward assist is for decoration only. They are sort of cheap made. If i had it to do over, I'd likely get a Smith and Wesson 15-22.
  8. I don't deny being ignorant, but I'll call a person arrogant who thinks they are important enough to destroy something God designed. The earth is designed to heal itself from anything we're able to do.
  9. I've seen a video of him somewhere pulling the bus into a parking lot where he had a gig to play. The look on the peoples' faces there was priceless.
  10. Thanks. I'm definitely in the learning stage. Al Gore could be right for all I know, but I have my doubts. I sure hope you didn't take offense to my remarks.
  11. I'm just ribbing you. You were talking to David.   You are correct. It wasn't the worst I've been to either. That award goes to Lebanon, TN.   One vendor did have some 22 ammo. I didn't think it was a "deal", but he didn't have confiscatory prices either.       I'm glad to have almost met you anyway.
  12. Correct. How do they get into the earth's atmosphere without causing a hole in the ozone layer, as per Bersaguy's theory? He says that there wasn't a hole there prior to 1970, and I'm quite confident we've had meteors hit earth well before then. Do you only making a hole when exiting the earth's atmosphere? I'm just asking. I'm no climatologist by any means.
  13. Do you have any evidence of this? I do believe this is the first time I've heard this theory. If it's true, how do you explain all the meteors that have historically hit earth? It is a fairly common occurrence.
  14. Unless you need reloading stuff from David, I'd save my money and gas.   Anyone know what barrier prevents Middle Tennessee from having a decent gun show? It certainly isn't lack of interest.        Was going to, but the guy this backpack was attached to was talking and talking and talking............, and I didn't want to interrupt. :D
  15. I saw him once. He's good live. Man, he's a big feller!
  16. Referred to by these guys as "Warden".
  17. I'd be looking for the folks who pass you on the shoulder while you are waiting to turn left, and the ones who use a center turn lane as a passing lane. I've seen a lot of very bad wrecks due to this.
  18. They might want to clarify the use of turn signals. It seems there is a shroud of mystery around this subject in the great state of Tennessee.
  19. ...in a Wal Mart parking lot I presume.
  20. Time for another phone call.
  21. There are underground zinc mines in and around the Carthage/ Gordonsville area, but I am unaware of the strip mines you speak of.   I understand the hole in the ozone layer acts as a natural vent to help regulate the Earth's temperature, expanding and contracting as needed.   You are correct in that Gore has spent his life making millions by perpetuating the myth of global warming, and positioning himself to profit quite nicely from the very predictable actions of fellow politicians.   He and his ilk are like a cancer to our society. They've never produced anything, and yet have made fortunes via government. I hope there's a cure before long.
  22. I'm not sure of your age, but if you go back a bit further, there were very few deer in Middle Tennessee. Here, it often got mentioned in the local newspaper if someone claimed to have seen one. I'm not sure about juvenile season, but otherwise, I don't believe you were allowed to kill a doe at all at one time.   By the time I began deer hunting, well over 20 years ago, they were in the midst of a restocking program, and the population was beginning to grow. I hunted several seasons without ever seeing a single deer.   The thought was that one buck could service many does. The more does, the more potential fawns, which in turn grew the population.   Aside from a nice buck, I actually prefer to take a doe now, because they are at near maximum capacity.
  23. The first show they had there was pretty big. A lot of vendors had things like high end knives, that just didn't sell in Westmoreland. It has since become smaller, but in my opinion is still worth a look. I'll be there. I've found several good deals from individuals there.
  24. It takes a while to change public mindset. For years, we were trying to conserve the does in order to increase the population. That idea was kind of hard to turn loose of; at least for me it was.
  25. I drew mine by hand, because I no longer have a copy of Autocad. I'm not sure why people pay so much for home plans. It isn't that big a deal to do yourself if you know what you want.
