Let's compare this to the great AR scare of a couple of years back. "Newtown" we'll call it.   Remember the run of the mill $2k ARs, $100 Pmags, and dollar a pop plinking ammo?   Today, $500 will get you a serviceable AR. $10-12 for mags. Ammo has dropped by more than half. It is how a free market works. This doesn't mean it's time to go into your bunker.   The best run companies will survive, and some lesser companies will be purged.   I guess this is all a matter of perspective, and depends on your definition of "SHTF".   Being prepared for an emergency is a good plan whether traveling, fishing, investing, or just simply living life. If you are prepared, a great emergency turns out to be a minor inconvenience.

I love the sky is falling threads that show up every time the stock market sees a correction.   You sell......I'm buying.   Where else can a person reliably grow his wealth?        As screwed up as it is, the U.S. is still the preeminent economic power in the world. The dollar still the world standard currency. Seriously, if it does crash, where else would you want your money?   How about a world collapse? What exactly would this mean? The entire world's population just quits producing anything? Sorry, but I cannot wrap my head around that concept.

I made a truck gun a while back when they had the mid-length PSA uppers on sale and free shipping.   It's a great shooting carbine.

I'm in for a Remington UMC stamped 1911. Not real particular about the price. :D

Yes it does.   My wife was working at a company several years back. It was an awesome place to work. Like everywhere, they started making changes. It did not go well. Everyone talked of leaving, but she was the first one to jump ship. It was the best move of her life career wise.   You'll find something much better, but is does suck right now I'm sure. The unknown is scary.

That sucks for sure. I'm not sure I'd want to work at a place like.   Please don't take this the wrong way, but assuming you guys did your job well, I wonder if they thought it through what will happen in the morning without these ten employees. :shrug:   You might get a phone call yet.

To me, banning such a popular product would be akin to Ford dropping the F-150 from it's line.   It's so popular that you can't find it anywhere now.   Stranger things have happened, but it doesn't pass the smell test.

Wanna really pizz your wife off? Tightly stretch a piece of saran wrap over the bowl, and then let the seat back down. :rofl:   If she don't look at the position of the seat, she'll never see the saran wrap till it's too late.   We have a "leave it like ya found it" policy here regarding toilet seats. Sort of like gates.

Seriously, Phil Valentine has the right idea on the illegal immigration issue in my opinion. You don't deport anyone. You simply "demagnetize" the United States. This means you make penalties so tough for doing business with illegals that no one will hire them or trade with them, and they'll deport themselves.

If you look at a map, you'll find that the more of what is now Mexico we occupy, the shorter the wall needs to be. :D Just a thought....

If I can do it, anyone can. You'll need a few inexpensive tools. There's no shortage of instruction and information on the net. The options are virtually endless this way.

If you want an AR, I've put together some pretty good stuff cheaply by watching daily sales at palmetto state armory.   Anderson Arms also sells AR parts as well as complete rifles at very competitive prices. I've had no problems with their stuff either.   If you'd prefer an AK, I second Dolo's suggestion of a WASR. I've read a lot of bad reviews on the net regarding them, but my experience with them has been stellar.   Furthermore, I've found the SKS to be a pretty much trouble free, foolproof design that can still be had a reasonable prices.

Thanks for the reminder. I wasn't aware this had become a problem. Of course, there are a lot of things I'm not aware of.
