When you get a 9mm load worked up for a 180 grain Hornady XTP we'll talk.

Good looking leather!

How often do some of you guys get pulled over? Just obey the laws and be on your merry way. -
Hog semen. :ugh:

Sit it in front of the t.v. and make it watch Al Gore's documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth". :snore: :D

Seriously, we have funny accents. This does not make us all toothless, barefoot idiots. You sound funny to us as well. -
Has a small issue yesterday in Cookville!

I liken calling 911 in a situation like this to tattling to the teacher in grade school. This is something I was taught not to do, and something I've passed along to my kids. Try to take care of your business yourself; don't run tattling every time someone looks at you funny. I guess this is an indication of the weenie society in which we now live. -

Just load em up in the car and drive south. As Dolomite eluded to, Tennesseans are friendly, but wary of yankees. Try to assimilate, and for goodness sake, NEVER tell anyone here "That isn't the way we did it in Massachusetts"! That'll incite an altercation you don't want. Enjoy our humidity! It's weather you can wear. -
I wouldn't say it is physically easier, but technically easier. A revolver round has to fit the cylinder, not explode the gun, and go bang. A lot of things need to be "right" in order for a semi auto round to properly function in it's host pistol.

Finally took my wife to shoot the ar, need some guidance
gregintenn replied to hlb14's topic in Long Guns
My wife doesn't like all the clang, clatter, and things going on with a semi auto rifle or handgun. She loves her semi auto shotgun, however. Go figure. Anyway, how 'bout letting her shoot a bolt or lever rifle? -
I'm still looking for those m1 carbines from Korea.

Would someone be kind enough to explain why he should have called 911 and why? No crime was committed here, and bersaguy had everything under control. I see no reason he needed to add the headache of waiting for and then dealing with police when or if they ever decided to show up. Honestly, I expect they have more important things to attend to. I believe he handled the situation perfectly. -
I'd try another scope before I dinked around with the rifle much. Also, try a box of factory Remington ammo.

Laser grips?

I did not know that. I haven't been there in a while. Thanks.

No, but someone will be expecting you to collect taxes on the sales. -

It's a fun hobby.

Revolver ammo is easier to reload than semi auto in my opinion. If it'll fit in the cylinder and won't blow the gun up, it'll work. Semi auto guns are more fussy about their diet.

I have some of that brass as well. I remember when I was a kid, you'd call and place an order, and you usually talked to either Larry or his wife. They had free shipping then.
-
That was the die I described. I'm not real good at explaining things. You turn the die body down until it touches the case mouth of the factory round, lock it in place on the press, then turn the seating die down until it contacts the bullet. In my opinion, you do not need a crimping die, as the seating die will do it all in one step.

230 gr FMJ or plated, and 5.0 gr Bullseye. I understand this was the old military load, and works great in everything I own.

If you're wanting AR parts, a complete AR, ammo for an AR, etc., Now is the time you'll soon be wishing you could go back to, where the stuff is plentiful and cheap. Don't let it slip by.
-
Yup....you can hold on to it. I'm trying 380 auto now, and it's like castrating gnats. Anyone who reloads 25acp has my utmost respect.
-
LOL! He chewed the chit outta that brass, didn't he? A resizing die ain't gonna fix that.
-
Same here. So far, I've yet to find a split 45acp case. Perhaps they last forever? Don't sweat it. A case split at the mouth will not damage you or your gun. I don't recall how much reloading experience you have, but I'll share with you and everyone else a couple of things I've learned about reloading auto pistol cartridges. 1)Bell the mouth of the case after resizing only enough so the bullet will start easily. The bell should be barely visible when looking at it. 2)When seating the bullet, crimp the case only enough to remove the bell, as the case headspaces on the mouth. 3)An easy trick to adjust your bullet seater die: a) put a factory round with a similar bullet in the shellholder of your press. b) Back the bullet seater nearly all the way out of the die, and screw the die into the press a bit. c) Pull the handle all the way down so the factory round is as far in the die body as it will go. d) Screw the die into the press until you begin to feel resistance, and lock it in place. This will provide the same crimp as factory. e) Screw the bullet seater into the die until it stops. At this point, you should be adjusted to where your press will produce a round with the same dimensions as factory stuff. This means it should function reliably. Sorry if everyone but me knew this. I've seen a lot of threads here and elsewhere where people were fussing over how much to crimp and case overall length.
