  1. As we were having a dinner for two of my friends/ co workers today for their retirement, it was pointed out to me that except for one older fella, whose only there because no one has taken the time and trouble to get rid of him, it was pointed out to me that I've now been there longer than anyone else.   It seems like just a few days ago, I showed up one February morning. Looking around, most of the guys reminded me of my grandfather.   Man, life sure sneaks upon ya.   I'll certainly miss these guys, and the knowledge they'd amassed, along with the many that have left before them. I don't think I'll be able to fill their shoes.
  2. I've been buying Colt ambi safeties from Midway for 30 something bucks. They require a little hand fitting, but it isn't a big deal. I've installed several, and haven't had a problem with them.
  3. Tell a realtor what you're looking for and have them keep an eye out for you.   Also, if you find a particular piece of property you like, find out who owns it and go ask them if they'd have an interest in selling it. The worst that could happen would be them telling you "no". There's a lot of stuff that can be bought which doesn't have a for sale sign on it.
  4. You're not that far away, huh?   Sikeston is where Lambert's Restaurant is if I'm not mistaken. It's o.k. if the waitress throws food at you; long as it's good food. :D :D
  5. I'm probably the last one to find out about them. They claim to be the largest Polaris retailer in the WORLD! To be in the middle of nowhere like they are, they are definitely doing something right.   I know there were people from Clay county there this morning, also from somewhere up above Knoxville. Who knows where the rest of the crowd was from.
  6. If I was gonna carry it, I'd spend the extra dough on the Ruger mag. The ProMag may be fine, but the Ruger mag will work.
  7. It's a drive for most of us, but I was very pleased with their professionalism, no haggle prices, selection, etc.   Abarnathy's Cycle in Union City Tennessee.       http://www.abernathycycles.com/default.asp?page=xNewInventoryDetail&id=485546&p=1&make=honda&vc=utility&s=Year&d=D&i=%2Fimglib%2Ftrimsdb%2F1328031-0-2482761.png&t=new&vt=atv&year=2014&fr=xNewInventory I never found anyone in Tennessee who could touch this deal.
  8. Sam is about a hundred years old. He's a grumpy f@rt, and works his own schedule. He can fix what ails you though.
  9. I do it regularly with multiple rifles, and I've about decided that I can't make an AR jam.
  10. I've heard Glenn Beck ranting and raving about smart meters. I'm not sure if I have one, but there was a new meter installed here a couple of years back, and I no longer see a meter reader come down the drive.   So far, I have electricity and still get a bill. I can't tell anything's changed.
  11. I always heard it was something else that would make you go blind. :stunned:
  12. Sounds like a fine fellow to me.You've every right to be proud of him, Eric! :usa:
  13. It didn't take long for this to get out in the media. :ugh:   I've yet to read the political leanings of the shooter in Chattanooga.
  14. We do indeed live in interesting times. :shake:
  15. Is being concerned about the condition of another's soul judging in your opinion?   You aren't rubbing me the wrong way. So long as we keep it civil, I find the discussion interesting.
  16. Would you be so kind as to share your recipe?
  17. Good luck that my friend. I sure hope you change your mind at some point.
  18. I assume one would need to melt gold in order to plate something with it? If so, I do not know the exact melting point for gold, but I'm guessing that it's higher than the comfort zone for the boys. :stunned:
  19. Absolutely; but who has more to lose if they are wrong?
  20. You may be surprised one day.
  21. So if you pretend to not have to answer to a higher power, why do you give a crap what's right or wrong?
  22. 5 grains of Bullseye behind a 230 grain fmj projectile. If it was good enough for Uncle Sam, it's good enough for me.
  23. I have an LCP. I've shot it a lot, and carried it a lot. I can say it will dispatch opossums with impunity. I can keep all round inside a paper plate at 15 yards. It's easy to disassemble, clean, and reassemble. It carries well in a pocket. It's also been 100% reliable. No safeties, switches, buttons, levers, etc. to fuss over. Just point and click.   For a pocket pistol, I find it nearly perfect.
  24. So you were just born knowing right from wrong?
  25. Then from where do they originate?
