    Dad Gift

A beautiful box of Roy Weatherby goodness indeed!   I don't suppose the box would fit in the safe. There's a lot of value in it as well as the rifle.
  2. Uh oh! I've got a lot of them that are well past the expiration date. :stunned:   Why is it that when successful people in the entertainment industry all think we give a :poop:  about their political views?
  3. If you are wise enough to know where and when "rock bottom" is, you should become a very wealthy man.
  4. I now have windows 10. It took about 30 hours to download for some reason. Just when it installed, my wifi card went out. I am NOT a computer guy, so I thought there was a problem with windows 10 causing me to be unable to access the internet. That sort of thing is very irritating to me. :panic: :wall:   I had my teenage son come and diagnose the problem. :shake:
  5. That's a lot of folks mispronouncing it, huh? :D
  6. Now 2008 will happen again. It's part of a cyclical economy. Maybe I'm just too dense to understand, but we all survived it just fine.
  7. Oh, I like odd stuff. I'm glad you posted this. I never knew it existed.
  8. I expect an emergency to be a visit to the E.R., engine blows in car, need a new central unit, etc. These are much more likely and easier to prepare for than world collapse.
  9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HePqZGfVqRI I haven't seen one, but after your post, I went to youtube and enjoyed Ray Barone's review on the Zipgun.     ***WARNING!!!!!!! Language NOT safe for work!!!!!!!!!****
  10. I like Colts, am Sig-curious, but just can't get turned on about a Glock.   I've found the hunt of an elusive piece to be more thrilling than the acquisition.   So for I'll say I'm pleased with the return on investment of most of the guns I've accumulated over the years. I certainly wouldn't buy them at today's prices.
  11. It's worth the sum of the value of whatever parts you can salvage from it, or whatever you value it as a shooter. Not something a collector would be interested in.   Assuming the stock is well done, I'd say $400 tops?   Can you get pics?
  12. If your bills are paid, your emergency fund is funded, and your family's needs are met, I see no problem acquiring something you want.   I've found that the older I get, the less important "stuff" is to me.   I've never found myself wanting a Glock, however.
  13. Let's compare this to the great AR scare of a couple of years back. "Newtown" we'll call it.   Remember the run of the mill $2k ARs, $100 Pmags, and dollar a pop plinking ammo?   Today, $500 will get you a serviceable AR. $10-12 for mags. Ammo has dropped by more than half. It is how a free market works. This doesn't mean it's time to go into your bunker.   The best run companies will survive, and some lesser companies will be purged.   I guess this is all a matter of perspective, and depends on your definition of "SHTF".   Being prepared for an emergency is a good plan whether traveling, fishing, investing, or just simply living life. If you are prepared, a great emergency turns out to be a minor inconvenience.
  14. I love the sky is falling threads that show up every time the stock market sees a correction.   You sell......I'm buying.   Where else can a person reliably grow his wealth?        As screwed up as it is, the U.S. is still the preeminent economic power in the world. The dollar still the world standard currency. Seriously, if it does crash, where else would you want your money?   How about a world collapse? What exactly would this mean? The entire world's population just quits producing anything? Sorry, but I cannot wrap my head around that concept.
  15.   See.....we told ya!     Today, a guy like you who isn't afraid of work is a very rare commodity, and can just about write his own paycheck.
  16. I like that.   Anywhere else sell them? :)
  17. I made a truck gun a while back when they had the mid-length PSA uppers on sale and free shipping.   It's a great shooting carbine.
  18. I'm in for a Remington UMC stamped 1911. Not real particular about the price. :D
  19. Anybody here fired a ptac upper a bunch? If so, what is your opinion of them?
  20. ...and look for Regal to bankrupt in 3....2.....1....... :surrender:
  21. That didn't take long!
  22. I don't know how you could hold onto that. :stunned:   Ear protection would be a big deal as well.
  23. Yes it does.   My wife was working at a company several years back. It was an awesome place to work. Like everywhere, they started making changes. It did not go well. Everyone talked of leaving, but she was the first one to jump ship. It was the best move of her life career wise.   You'll find something much better, but is does suck right now I'm sure. The unknown is scary.
  24. That sucks for sure. I'm not sure I'd want to work at a place like.   Please don't take this the wrong way, but assuming you guys did your job well, I wonder if they thought it through what will happen in the morning without these ten employees.   You might get a phone call yet.
  25. I'd like to hear what you think of it once you get it and shoot it some.
