  1. My father has an affinity for them. I've shot several, an can say they are accurate to a fault.   They're just not my bag. For that kind of money, I want pretty. A #1 Ruger isn't much more expensive.   Not as refined, but much less expensive is H&R/NEF, or a CVA single shot.
  2. Care to expound on that?
  3. All you need is a wrench of socket and ratchet to move the tension pulley so you can remove and replace the offending belt.   Looks more like $25-$35 of you do it yourself.   There should be a serpentine belt routing diagram under the hood. If not, they can be found online, or worst case, make a cell phone pic before you remove the old one.   If that doesn't fix it, anything the belt turns could be the culprit. Since you aren't too confident in your mechanical abilities, you might consider taking it to a local garage at this point.
  4. Ever read of a gentleman named "John The Baptist"? That's where I understand Baptists come from.
  5. Mental health is an entirely different issue from the religious war we currently find ourselves in. With proper mental health screenings and care, I expect we would be able to weed out these people with pretty good accuracy.   On the other hand, many muslims who do not act on their violent teachings financially support those who do. What do you propose we do about them other than bend over and take it?
  6. Is it time yet for "I told ya so?"   We're living in an effed up time and place.
  7. If someone can show me how to tell the difference between the muslims who wish to kill infidels, and those who don't, then I'll be tolerant of them and their religion. TIll then, I'd like them ALL far, far away from me.
  8.
  9. Mine just says "online". Awesomeness denied.

  11. All I know is that black SUV shown on the news has a chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitload of holes in it!!!!!!! :stunned: :stunned:
  12. This doesn't sound like Bubba gone crazy to me. :ugh:
  13. Sounds like a pretty good friend. Probably did him more good than it did you.
  14. I thought California was the utopian model of gun control. How'd this happen?
  15. You just can't beat that!
  16. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/92604-22lr-thunderbolt-ammo-500rd-box-3299/ Support the forum vendors?
  17. Logging is a dangerous and technical profession. I've known several guys who've logged all their lives and yet somehow wound up under a tree.   This is a job best left to professionals.   If you'd like to make some cash off your labor, cut up and sell firewood from the treetops the loggers leave behind.
  18. The folks I've met from here have been outstanding individuals as well.
  19. LEM is a well run company.
  20. That's what I figured. I think LEM has it. They'll also have bags as well. It is a good place to order meat processing supplies.
  21. Where does one purchase the Morton's Tender Quick curing salt? My local grocer doesn't have it.
  22. A lever rifle shouldn't have a sling. It should be held in the ready position, or at least carried with one hand around the receiver at the balance point. Quick snap shots are what the lever carbine is all about, and a sling would only be a hindrance.   The same applies to a scope. Receiver sights are o.k.   :D :D :D :D
  23. I went to Cabela's tonight, and worried the sales staff to death comparing their display of binoculars. After much looking, fondling, asking questions, etc., I finally decided on the Leupold 10x42 Cascades. I was surprised to find, and my wife delighted, that I liked them better than the higher priced Leupold Mojave binos.   I wish I could have been there about dusk so I could have compared them in low light, but I think these are what I want.   I even looked at some $2000+ Swarovski's, and they were awesome! Just not two grand better than the Leupolds.   I've decided the trick in picking out binoculars is to find what you consider to be the point of diminishing returns. The most expensive models are the best, but just barely as I see it.
  24. Absolutely. I don't see deer regularly during a clear night/full moon time period until mid morning. This past week, I've been leaving for the stand at about 8am. I'm seeing the deer from 9-12.   After a dark/cold night, you'll tend to see them earlier in the morning.
  25. I think the Vaqueros are beautiful revolvers.
