  1. Why is it so many folks seek out a job in a low paying field, and then bitch they aren’t paid enough. I remember being sick of hearing teachers bitch about not making enough money when I was in school. You know how I solved that? I didn’t become a teacher. Today, there are many jobs where a person with no college education can make 100k a year in no time.
  2. I'm pretty much full circle back to a hook, sinker, float, and live bait. I'd grab some panfish jigs, plastic worms, hooks bullet sinkers, and an assortment of Rooster Tail spinner baits.
  3. I understand. It has been my experience, however, that if you find a problem that needs fixing, government usually isn’t your best tool to fix it. I’d be curious how many here still make minimum wage. Hell, I’m not sure I know anybody who makes minimum wage. I still have a kid in college, and he makes at least $15 just doing odd jobs. A lot of folks pay him $20 or better. These are not jobs that require skill, knowledge, or tools. Just show up and follow instruction.
  4. Let’s imagine I’m lying around doing nothing, and you have some limbs in your yard that needs cleaning up. If I’m willing to do that for $5 an hour, and you’re willing to pay that to have it done, I don’t see where that should be any concern to the government. A minimum wage job is a good stepping stone into the workforce for teenagers, or a good way for a retiree to get out and socialize a bit. If a person spends 40 years of their life manning the grill at McDonald’s, they’ve screwed up somewhere along the way. FDR was a big government progressive commie.
  5. We’re a bit different, but still the same. Canned garden veggies with canned deer meat make up a lot of our diet. We haven’t been able to find a restaurant that can compete.
  6. Black and chrome…just like nature intended!
  7. Well stated and bears repeating.
  8. Face it. We’re old. Evos are classics now, and beginning to command the prices to prove it.
  9. That’s pretty neat.
  10. Model 21 Winchester. Best out there!
  11. A man can walk into any Harley dealer and buy the latest and greatest gas grill edition. He’s mutilating a classic here!
  12. No, but I do appreciate you asking. I bet eBay will get em gone though.
  13. This is like watching a baby get mutilated.
  14. Well, except for inflation, I would agree with you.
  15. I’ll argue it was for a home they could not afford to begin with.
  16. Good haul! I was using night crawlers. Close enough I reckon? Oh yeah… Thanks for the reply. I thought I was the only guy left who panfishes.
  17. Seems like they’d get full on cicadas and not hit anything else. I guess I’m just thick headed.
  18. I went fishing this morning, and they were practically jumping in the boat. Everything weather wise should be similar tomorrow, but odds are, I won't get a bite if I go again. I eat every day. I guess I expect fish to do the same. I have never understood this phenomenon.
  19. Finally got it in the ground today.
  20. Hats off to you, sir! A very nice gesture indeed.
  21. Gotcha! What I see are folks dressed head to toe in REI gear with ski sticks, backpacks, and $500 boots, walking the equivalent of me going to the mailbox.
  22. I just hike, like I do most everything else, in my Red Wing Pecos pull ons. I never really understood the purpose of hiking boots. If a person is used to wearing tennis shoes, or whatever, why not just wear those? I once saw two gals sitting on a bench at Clingman’s dome, rubbing their blister covered feet, with two brand new pairs of fancy hiking boots sitting beside them. That left an impression on me.
  23. Till it hits you in the arse!
