If it's raining, I have an old Spanish Mauser I sporterized, but if it's not, I can't decide which rifle goes with me. If my youngest son goes with me, he'll be packing a rifle, and I might just carry a revolver. What will you be packin'?

The Lebanon Gun Shop on Hartman Drive also has a gunsmith. I haven't employed him so far, but he is a nice guy and seems very knowledgeable. Sam Hoster is the local resident 1911 guru. He is in the same building with Asherbranner's Pawn Shop on South Water (109) in Gallatin. He's part time now and I'm unsure of his hours.

They're a hundred dollar gun. One shouldn't expect Colt quality, but for a hundred dollar gun, they represent good value.

This....with a shot of Nu Finish liquid car polish.

I've done it both ways with no ill effects. I'll usually crimp them just to be on the safe side.

Yeah. There hasn't been a lot of detail released yet. It'll be interesting to hear.

I thought he made a nice addition.

This is something we all need to do more often. Management hears daily about where they've screwed up. It would be beneficial to let them know they're doing something right on occasion as well.

That's a good consideration. I am well stocked with dedicated deer rifles, however, and don't have any desire for an AR chambered for anything other than .556.

For the most part, they're now old enough to fend for themselves. The young ones also make for good eating. An antlerless buck is considered the same as a doe per twra regulations, and will not count against your buck limit. It's hard to tell the difference in a hunting situation.

If you aren't a Christian, who are you gonna repent to?

So far, I haven't done it either. You've outlined the reason quite well. Tracking a well hit deer for a long distance was the cheif reason I got out of bow hunting. Thanks for your opinion. I may shelf the idea for now.

You can only kill two bucks the entire season this year.  I guess I need to read the guide each season.

I had a 22 once. I would have kept it, but I let a co worker talk me out of it. It was every bit as accurate as my Ruger or Colt. The action was smoother than the Ruger, and the trigger was better. Fit and finish was that of an inexpensive gun. A lot of fun to shoot.

I shoot mine quite a bit, and don't feel the recoil is all that bad. You're correct; they are quite accurate with a bit of practice and getting used to the trigger.

Take a moment and inventory your stash. If you're able to count it, you don't have enough. NOW is the time to stock up. Don't say Greg didn't warn you. Don't come crying here after the next ammo hysteria. Buy it cheap and stack it deep . It won't get any cheaper than today folks.

You tend to dismiss it, or at least I do, until it happens right down the street. Well, this happened right down the street.

Florida is a nice place to visit, but you're right: it's great to be in Tennessee!

I'll tell ya. We're small town people, and when my younger son was small, we spent all summer at a ball park. He'd go off and play with friends. I knew he was around, but certainly didn't watch him constantly. He knew most everyone there, and they knew him. I thought nothing of it. You can say I suck as a parent, and you may be right, but things are different in a small community. I hope some of the locals find this guy before the police do. Honestly, I didn't even know this family, but I'm somewhat relieved I don't know who they are looking for. I might be inclined to help find him.

They've all been nice anytime I've shopped there. I can pretty much say I find that to be the case in most any TSC store.
-
Thanks guys. I loaded and shot some loads today. They shoot to the same point of impact as my plinking loads, and are very accurate. That's nice, as I wouldn't need to adjust my scope. I may give it a try. Not sure yet, as I have plenty of dedicated deer rifles in proven calibers.

My youngest son only plays baseball, but he had friends playing in this game last night. Many of my friends, neighbors, and their children were there. http://www.newschannel5.com/news/local-news/childs-body-found-in-scottsville-kentucky :wall: :wall: What the hell is wrong with people??!!?? I'm sure this family would appreciate your prayers.

Let's see.....which is more important? A picture painted on a bathroom wall made out of turd, or over 100 innocent people killed in a religious attack? HMMMM. How about instead of "Black Lives Matter", let's change it to "Shut up and get a job!"? A black dude is the friggin' President! Your claims of "white privilege" don't hold much water.

Thanks. I have some 20 rounders. I'm handloading. I usually load 55 grain fmj, but have some 55 grain soft points on hand. I'll have to go to a store and look for some specialty hunting bullets if they are needed. I think I also have some 55 gr Ballistic Tip Varmints, and some 60 grain Sierra HPs. I doubt either of them would be ideal for deer.

I can find no mention of rifle magazine capacity in the TWRA hunting guide. If I want to shoot a deer with an AR, do I need to purchase a small magazine, or is there no size limit? While we're here, will a 55 grain soft point do the deed, or do I really need some specialty whiz-bang bullet?
