  1. I just started dragging them out of the safe and really checking them out.
  2. What I know: It's a Remington Navy 38 rimfire cartridge conversion. The serial number is 4477 1. I don't know why there's a space in it. It's tight as a new one. What I think: The grips appear to be period ivory. What I'd love to know: What is it? The barrel address isn't correct for a Beal's model, but without the 1, the serial number is. Was it in the Civil War? Is it an actual Remington conversion, or an aftermarket conversion. I sure wish it could talk.
  3. Learn chords first; then scales. Chords get the ladies; scales get the money!
  4. I'm gonna snore right through it. I hate sitting out in a strong wind.
  5. I have a Peavy amp, but it's pretty "old school". I don't know what the go to brand is today. I wouldn't think you'd go wrong with Fender anything. You already know it, but that's a $1000+ guitar! I'm a bit jealous. Learn three chords, and let the 16 bar blues ooze from it's pickups!!!
  6. Did the trick! Thanks. As expected, I need a new hand spring. The cylinder is a bit sloppy, but we'll see how it is when it's back together and properly working.
  7. If I had your money; I'd burn mine!
  8. Be sure to go to Dillsboro, NC and not Stearns, KY, or you'll be disappointed. Sorry for the confusion.
  9. There ought to be some pretty impressive deals on gun related stuff this year, wouldn't you say?
  10. LOL! Put em up when they'll sell, and drag em out when the rush is over. What a business model!
  11. It appears you're correct! I've been on both, and would have sworn it was in Ky, but a google search proves me wrong. The one in Stearns, KY is still neat, as it tours an old coal mining town. Too many trains, and too much bourbon!
  12. The Big South Fork Scenic Railway goes by a train that was wrecked in the filming of the movie "The Fugitive". Is this the sort of thing you're looking for? http://www.winding-stairs.com/ The winding stairs walking trail is a little known place to visit in my hometown. http://www.redboilingspringstn.com/history.htm Red Boiling Springs was once the top tourist destination in the U.S. A flood in the 60's wiped out a lot of it, but there are three hotels still there. Pretty interesting, out of the way stuff.
  13. After a bit of looking, I've determined I can't get the damned cylinder pin out! It is frozen to the cylinder; not the frame. I've also determined the cylinder has a considerable amount of play, and I can put pressure on the cylinder pin and the action works perfectly. I expect it needs shimmed, peened or something to tighten it up rather than a hand assembly, if I can figure out how to get it apart without destroying it, perhaps I can tell more about it. I also determined it was made in 1911. That's a long time to build up crud, corrosion, etc. inside. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  14. I have a Bisley, and believe it need the hand assembly replaced. Is this a fairly easy job, or should I leave it to a professional? Cocking the hammer does not advance the cylinder. Other than that, it seems to work o.k.
  15. The wind will likely be at gale force Saturday. After it settles down, the hunting should be good.
  16. That's how Bobby Hill did it!
  17. More likely 300 Savage. I don't think I still have a 308.
  18. Thank you for the kind offer. I just ordered the 10th edition.
  19. You at Old Hickory?
  20. I had better than 20 deer walk by me this morning.....no shooters. Oh, and a coyote black as my Labrador Retriever.
  21. Dangit! I have the 8th edition.
  22. I picked up a can last night, just to get home and find none of my reloading manuals have load data for it. Oh well. If you've used it, what have your experiences been?
  23. I went out and stocked up on powder last night just in case.
  24. I'd be happy to find a brick of Winchester 40 gr 22 Mag.
  25. The TGO family will remain here for you.
