Female cardinal banging on my window... how to stop?
gregintenn replied to jgradyc's topic in General Chat
Sounds great, but my garden is a loooooooong way from a water source. I've heard you could shoot one and tie him to a post, and the others would stay away. The problem is, they always seem to have a lookout posted, and I haven't had any luck shooting one yet. -

I'd prefer the crows. Not much of a cat person. -

I've seen crows sitting atop our scarecrow. -
Planted my garden yesterday evening. We'll see how it goes.

A more perplexing problem for me at least, is how to keep crows out of the garden. -
Lol! Last night, he discovered that there were two witness marks where the microphone plugs into the headset. They weren't aligned. Fixed that and it worked like a charm.

Is your car red? I once had a red truck, and the red birds would fight the mirrors all sad every day. They'd poop all over the truck and scratch the paint. Dispatching them was the only remedy I found. -
HCP as an alternative to TICS/NICS

Nope. I have a lifetime permit. As long as it isn't revoked, I shouldn't have to renew it. -

Good looking work! I'd like to do some more leather work once I can free up a bit of time again.

Thanks for the tip. Wasn't it, but was worth looking into anyway.

My kid has recently began having problems with the microphone/headset on his ps4. He can hear on the headset, but his microphone no longer works. He bought a new headset. No help. Then he bought a new controller. No dice again. Resetting the controller doesn't help. Any suggestions?

Mowed everything here with it today in 1.8 hours! I think I can shave another tenth or two off that as I become more familiar with it. Man, I wish I'd have bought one of these a LONG time ago.

You have a point, sir. The bible is all about sacrifice in one form or another.

When my wife and I were first married, she knew an older man who owned a farm but spent all his time running his business. We lived in his old farmhouse, and I did farm chores and other odd jobs around there in lieu of rent, since we were young, newly married, and broke. This arrangement worked well for all involved. Would you know a young couple just starting out that would be up for something like that?

I've also seen many times, a rich, spoiled kid grow up to destroy himself with drugs, gambling, etc., and pizz away the family fortune. You are correct. It can go either way.

Jesus is impressed with the spirit of the giving rather than the size of the gift.

There is a common line of thinking today that the economy is like a pie. If someone is wealthy, it's because they took part of someone else's slice of that pie. I believe thee is more pie being made every day, and how much pie you have has no bearing on my pie. If I could make some wealthy person suddenly destitute, it would not change my lot in life whatsoever. If many people who spend their life despising successful people, and making excuses for their own failure would put some of that energy and drive into a productive pursuit, they'd soon become successful themselves, but it's easier to hate and make excuses than to jump in there and take a chance or two for one's self.

I've gone about it from a totally different direction from MacGyver. I took the path of least resistance. A slow , but more sure path to financial independence if you will. Although I am not averse to risk, my wife is. We've both worked hard and advanced in our jobs to the point where we make a very comfortable living, and are on track to retire at a very early age. Perhaps then, I can talk her into taking a more adventurous path. As always, MacGyver has many good points to ponder in his post. A stable family, and I'll add, a family that promotes a good work ethic and the importance of education, gives a young person a huge leg up on the competition. About the only thing I disagree with him on is the white privilege part. There's no reason, real or perceived, that a minority cannot achieve success with hard work and ambition. In many ways, current government regulations stack the odds in their favor. I will say that far too many minorities aren't raised in the a fore mentioned stable, two parent household. I've tried, and hope and pray, that we've done a decent job raising our children with the necessary tools to become successful.

That'll serve your needs much better than a dual sport bike. It's good riding weather now. I still can't get my wife on board for a bike. -
Yep. That's 6 bucks a year. A six pack of beer, or a happy meal! Dang it! I sound like an old fart!!!!

I usually just toss them out the window as the officer is about to drive away. For some reason this seems to make him angry.

I suppose I'll just sign up for the bank draft and move on to more important things. I do not like change. I guess it's part of getting old.
