A 70 series Colt Gold Cup National Match serves as my black tie 1911 at this time. It is a pretty nice firearm, but I expect there are better options out there today. -

I like to slide and drift like I'm racing on a dirt track.

I measure anywhere between 6 1/2 and 8" in places that are level and don't look to have been drifted by wind. Do you guys drive in 4wd when there is snow on the road, or just when you need it? I reserve it for the last option. My wife doesn't really like it.

I don't care how good a driver somebody is, the laws of physics take over when the road is slick.

While I own and really like a Rock Island, neither it nor a Tisas could ever be qualified as "best" for anything except maybe price. -
You should slow down. I told the kids that just because a 4wd went good in the snow didn't mean it didn't have the same brakes as a 2wd. If you can't drive any faster than walking speed though, leave the car at home and walk.

Folks around here simply forget the rules of the road when the road turns white. They’ll just stop for no reason, get out and walk around while parked in a driving lane, and everybody drives about 6 miles per hour. They’ll bow up in front of you and make a u turn. It’s crazy!

Dad once had one in 308. It was a neat little woods gun. This one in 6 mm would be very cool. Somebody got a good buy! -
That is an added bonus to the fact I drive junk. I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it if no one was injured.

I never found driving in the snow difficult, but boy! The other people out there sure make me nervous!!!

I thought the 600 Mohawk had a ribbed barrel. Was that the 660 perchance? -
Something ain’t right. I have a heat pump, it’ll keep the house whatever temp I set for t on no matter what happens outside. You might want to get your HVAC guy back out to check it out.
