The best full size 9mm is the first one....Luger P08. I don't know about the best small 9mm. Smith and Wesson 940?

Although they don't share the popularity of the old Winchesters, I've discovered that the old Marlins exhibited as good if not better quality. -
There was a BIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGGGG buck behind my house chasing does when I left for work this morning. For some reason, I was thinking muzzleloader season ended last Sunday evening, and bow season resumed from Monday morning until Friday evening. If I had known muzzleloader was still, open, I'd have been late for work. Now that I know, he 'd better not show his face again! I made pictures with my phone, but you can't tell anything about him in the pics.

Sighting in deer rifles for deer season

I'd suggest sighting in from a solid rest at known distances, then practice from possible field positions, including off hand, at a variety of distances and angles. -

Put the barrel in a vice with padded jaws and screw it in a bit tighter? -

That's the sort of members the ownership loves. -
That was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do, however, long to see Derrick Mason's taililghts fading into the distance.

As a Vandy fan, I hate to see ol' Butch leave.

Great story. I can't wait to see pictures.

This seems to be a somewhat religious event among deer hunters. I'll shoot a rifle every now and again, but not necessarily just before deer season. I don't know about your experiences, but mine always shoot exactly where they shot last year. Is this a problem I've just been lucky enough to somehow avoid?

Glad to have ya here. Jump on in and tell us some stories.

I've always noticed a big difference in size between Smith county deer and those in Sumner and Macon counties. Years ago there were very few deer here, and TWRA reintroduced them. I wonder if the Smith county deer came from a different place.

Deer are really moving this morning. Sadly, I'm at work. Good luck everybody!

Roasts, tenderloin, and hamburger meat are in the freezer. Jerky strips are marinading. Either I don't do it right, or there's a lot of work in processing a deer.

Should I ask the police to check a serial against stolen.

How rusty is the barrel and cylinder? -

Seeing that it is a black powder arm, there probably isn't any record on it. I'd bet the old man decided he didn't like cleaning it and robbed parts from it for a Blackhawk. -
The two buck limit, deer hunting t.v. shows, or something have seemed to finally change the mindset of a lot of hunters here. It seems most of us are now passing up the year old bucks we used to shoot. This is resulting, at least in my area, in some nice mature bucks walking around. I used to think "well, if I don't shoot it, he'll be popped as soon as he tops the next hill". So did most everybody else.

I had one once but sold it. Probably should have kept it. They have some sort of potmetal frames, and are cheaply made, but the one I had had a much smoother action and trigger than my Ruger, and was scary accurate. A lot of gun for $100. -
I got a call yesterday that we will not begin work until tomorrow. Just what I wanted to hear. They were really moving this morning. This amorous fella was chasing a doe. I don't know what he weighs, but I about never got him in the truck!

Meh...It's just the luck of the draw I think. My father saw 13 deer this morning, and killed a decent 7 pointer; the smallest of 3 bucks he saw. I hunt a better place, but that's the way the ball bounces. Stay with it. You'll get a trophy one day.

Welcome back! Don't be a stranger.

When I'm right, and especially when I'm winning, I'm not much for negotiating,

That WOULD be a neat setup.
