  1. She wasn't amused.
  2. My wife wouldn't shut up about the paper glasses, so I also fashioned myself a tinfoil hat for the festivities. Bullfrogs began croaking in the pond off in the hollow beside my house, and we saw a couple of bats fly over. This was very different from anything I've seen. I'm glad I got to see it.
  3. Yes it was!
  4. Hang onto your hats; it has begun!
  5. If you can put a spare tire on your car, you can mount a scope.
  6. Anybody seen traffic problems yet?
  7. Can we talk about football, guns, or some other manly stuff, instead of one ball passing in front of another?
  8. Debt free is something my wife and I have always agreed on. You're gonna like it!
  9. Do you think the 230 volt model would be worth the extra hundred or so dollars?
  10. Well, I've about decided the gas regulator is screwed up on dad's welder. Last night, I evidently had the wire speed way too high on my neighbor's welder. It isn't on gas; just using flux core wire. After a bit of research, I turned the wire speed way back, and now I'm running a respectable bead (at least for me). Thanks for all the help! You guys have about talked me into a wire welder instead of a stick.
  11. I've tried two different mug welders, and can't get the penetration I need for what I'm trying to weld. I know very little about welding, and am probably doing something wrong.
  12. That Miller 215 is pretty cool! I notice the Hobart Stickmate XL Tractor Supply sells gets really good reviews, and I think it'll do everything I'll need. Anybody have an opinion on it?
  13. I would like to purchase a quality, general purpose welder. It would be used for working on trailers, farm equipment, vehicles, etc. I know next to nothing about welding, but I do know I have an occasional need to make two pieces of steel stick together. Any advice, help, instruction, or even general ribbing would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Right. But the talking heads on tv act like putting the basketball in front of The bulb is somehow more harmful. That's the part I don't follow.
  15. So looking at the sun through a magnifying glass isn't a good idea?
  16. I wonder if a thousand years ago, there was an entire generation of blind folks after an eclipse. I also wonder why looking at the sun with an object in front of it is any different than just looking at the sun. I'm getting pretty cynical as I age.
  17. Rachael from cardholder services called me one day from my home phone number. I'm still not sure how she got into my house to make the call.
  18. You probably should call the number!
  19. Isn't facebook wonderful?
  20. A rainout on that day would be quite comical. The moon passes in front of the sun. Big deal. It'll be on T.V.
  21. My father ordered an H&R 058 Topper for me at our local Ace Hardware when I was a kid. I remember the excitement of going with him to pick it up. It was $100, and had two interchangeable barrels: a 20 gauge with modified choke, and a 30-30 win rifle barrel. It'll shoot 1" groups at 100 yards, and has been responsible for a lot t of game taken. Although it misses a bit of finish from use, it still resides in the back of my safe and isn't going anywhere. I still have the box and papers as well.
  22. Welcome aboard. I have found your website invaluable in the past. We hope you will enjoy this one as well.
  23. This thread wouldn't go away if a moderator locked it.
  24. Oh no!!!!!!!!Not again!!!!!!!!!!!!
