Good point. I thought it was American made. I need to look further to know for sure, however.

I guess it's too much to expect a gun in this price range to function reliably and hit where you point it. This is yet another example of why I don't feel as strongly about "buy American" as many others do.

I liked this one better before I shot it. The sights seem to be regulated for 115 grain bullets. I thought 124 grain loads should be the standard. Several times, the extractor left an empty shell in the chamber. I guess I should stick to what I know; old, quality firearms. I now have several 1911s, and my Rock Island 4" is still my favorite.

I also picked up a model 28 Smith at a gun show a while back for $350. It's finish isn't perfect, but the action is smooth as silk, and it shoots as well as any handgun I own.

Does Gibson still make a quality flattop, or are you buying the name?

I bid on a nice Gibson J-50 at an estate sale this past weekend. I didn't get it, as it brought $1300, and I just don't know enough about vintage guitars to bid any higher, but I sure did like it. The quest continues....

You get what you pay for. I've bought a couple of pinned and recessed model 19 Smith and Wessons for less than $500, but you have to have patience.

I've been at an estate auction this morning, and it was snowing sideways there!

All previous shows there have sucked. I'm not going to another until I hear a different report. Sparta usually has a good show as does Cave City, Kentucky. I don't know why the NASHVILLE area can't have a decent show.

I've been pleased with everything I've ever bought there.

A Remington model 14 would have been much cooler. So would a Colt Lightning, or a scaled up Winchester 62a.

Looks like it hits where you point it. I think I read somewhere that the 40 had a steel frame instead of aluminum like the 9. Is that correct?

I am not easily impressed with new production handguns, but have to say that so far, I am quite impressed with this little jewel. i can't wait to shoot it.
